Product Description

Korner'D from Endless Games is brand new for Spring 2013. This game is a proud partner of Autism Speaks and a great challenge for everyone, including those with special needs. Korner'D is a puzzle that's also a game! The rules are simple, just match the colors on the tile to the pattern on the board. Play all of your tiles, and you win! Korner'D is so basic-yet so compelling. It's the mind-bending, abstract strategy game of perception that brings excitement with each new discovery. Ages: 8+.

In this letter game, the object is to be the first to construct eight words from distinctive, lettered playing tiles. Each player picks a tile in turn, and those tiles go into a common "face-up" pool until a player can construct a word from them. Subsequently, players can try to construct a word from the pool or can also use opponents' words as material. There's a catch: you must use all the letters from an opponent's word and in a different order. As you gain skill, you can make the game more difficult by determining a minimum acceptable word length. The wooden letter tiles are large--a full inch square--and are easy to read. --Richard Farr

I got this for my 81 year old mom who asked for it to help keep her mind sharp. She had the original Spill and Spell, but had lost some of the cubes. She likes this one better as there are more cubes and they are bigger, making them easier to see. We would like to see the game come with a lid for the cup, but other than that, it is a great product!

My 83-year-old Mom and I play a round of 10 games every Saturday night; keeps both her spelling and math skills sharp (of course I don't NEED mind-sharpening yet, right?)! It's a game to be shared by everyone from 7 or 8 on up to great grandmas and grandpas.

We got the idea for scoring from the original Spill and Spell years ago, and it's much easier than having to read the manual each time you play. Just square the number of dice and add up the totals: 3-letters = 9 points; 4-letters = 16 points; 5-letters = 25 points; up to my best of 11 letters = 121 points. If you can't use up all the dice, you square the ones remaining and subtract that from your total score. And ditch the timer! Buy multiple games so everyone works at his or her fastest pace, and no one gets bored waiting 6 or 7 minutes for Grandma to finish OR gets frustrated by never being able to do anything in the time allotted. These newer games now come with 22 dice, which is a nice improvement over the old 15 cube game--lots more possibilities for longer words.

My only complaint (as others have mentioned) is that the cup has no lid, so the cubes float loose in the box; I have a circle of plastic that I rubber-band over the top of the cup to keep them in place. SOMEDAY, I'll stitch fabric covers with elastic to fit the cups (HEY! maybe I'll sell them and earn enough to purchase a couple more games!).

I loved playing Spill and Spell as a kid, so I looked forward to playing this game when my wife gave it to me as a gift.

I was disappointed that unlike my childhood version of the game, the cup does not have a lid. This makes it a lot less convenient for traveling. Also, the game I had as a child had numbers on the letters indicating point value.

Overall, I still enjoy playing it again, this time with the next generation.

My children are 6 and 8 and enjoyed the challenge to come up with words. The younger one needed some help and we didn't use the timer for him. The older one wanted the timer for the challenge. We will play this game as a warm up for spelling work.

Many fond memories of Spill & Spell marathons night after night during summer vacations. It keeps your mind sharp. I still love the game and I will even challenge myself when no else is available.
