I tried finding this again years ago and it was gone.

Wish the points were on the cubes, like scrabble rather than instructions. You need to keep the manual at your side to determine the score after each throw.

This is a game I've been playing for over 30 years, but we've only gone through 2 sets in all those years (we used the first set so much that the letters wore off the dice). My mother and I devised our own scoring method, as the one that comes with the game is rather boring (we basically would square the length of the word, i.e., a 7-letter word would be 7x7=49 points). That really upped the ante to make long words, and with the large number of dice that you're working with, any Scrabble fan should be able to come up with some nice long words. Of course you can follow the scoring rules that come with the game, which is much simpler and much lower. But we always liked this game for the very reason that it was versatile if you wanted to be creative. We would choose a particular subject that was worth extra points (for instance, make a word related to the weather, and get double points!).

It's a fun game for anyone who likes word games like Scrabble, Upwords, etc.

Many fond memories of Spill & Spell marathons night after night during summer vacations. It keeps your mind sharp. I still love the game and I will even challenge myself when no else is available.

If you liked the old Crossword Cubes game from the past you will like Spill & SpellI. I used to have a crossword cubes game and misplaced it after moving a few times. I checked with Amazon about a new one and found the Spill & Spell.

It's a really fun game. The only problem I can see is that the timer should measure off a bit more time. The timer that came with the game is really of much too short a duration. Thank you!

This is still a great game. I played it in my youth. It teaches people how to spell if nothing else.

I gave this game to my grandson for his ninth birthday.The next day he was playing it & having fun. Rules can be adjusted for different ages.
