I bought two. One for the patio and one for my mini-deck off the kitchen. I love sitting outside to read or visit with friends and now it's possible even with chilly fall weather. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. It's attractive, durable, and WORKS!
P.S. If you're a banished smoker, this heater is a godsend.

While this heater is beautiful, and does throw good heat when it works, it only stays on for a maximum of two minutes or less before turning itself off. Needless to say, this really isn't enough time to get the room warm... Customer service sent me a new fuse, but that didn't work either. BTW, this heater is ceramic, not brass. It's quite heavy and fragile. The first one I received was broken due to poor packaging. The second one arrived in one piece, but, as I said - isn't really worth much in the long run.

I was excited to give this gift to my mom for Christmas. When she opened it, the stem of the lamp was broken. I was supprised to see that it was made of ceramic and did not think that it would be so fragile. Nothing on the box indicated the delicate nature, nor was that in the description of the product. I still think it is a beautiful lamp/heater, so I will return and replace. Hopefully the next one will come undamaged.

The heater lamp makes a beautiful, yet functional addition to our screened porch. They are attractive and provide a surprising amount of heat. I definately recommend this product.

I see I am not the only person to receive this item with a broken stem. No damage to the box nor to the packing materials inside, but the stem was snapped clean in two. Although they are replacing the item, I now have to pay to ship it back. Bad form!

It is tall for table top but to short for the floor. I like the look though. I got use to the height. It just needs to be that way. Arrived in perfect shape. I've had mine for a few months and use it frequently without trouble. To me it's only enough heat if you are sitting right beside it which is all I need it for. I do like the ambiant light as well.

The lamp works as advertised, and I think that given our elevation in Santa Fe (7,200 ft.) we will get an extra two or three weeks of dining on the portal at the beginning and end of the summer. That said, and as others have commented, the lamp arrived cracked where the stem joins the base. I was able to do a semi-repair with Superglue, but who knows how long that will last? Also, I note that many patio tables have a hole in the center designed for an umbrella shaft. Therefore, it should be easy to just drop the lamp cord down the hole and through the table top. "Should be" is the operative phrase here: I had to cut away part of the base to free the cord for the drop-down mode. Yeah, my choice, but a bit more thought to the design would make for greater utility/flexibility. One positive note is that the light from the lamp has a nice glow, almost approaching candle light, which is quite pleasant.
