Great swinging CD. Jimmy and Albert are jazz royalty and always give a first performance - whether recorded or live. The rhythm section of Wong and Patton is superb. My question is why Ben Ratliff of the NY Times refers to the drum, bass-playing brothers when Percy the bassist died several years ago. This recording includes the talents of Albert(drums) and Jimmy (sax). Glad to see you're keeping up on things and giving us such "informed" critiques, Mr Ratliff.
