The recipe box arrived in a timely fashion. It is sturdy thus far, but keep in mind that I've only had it in the kitchen a few days. The lid is polished while the rest is not, which might frustrate some people, and it is a flip lid like other recipe boxes that I've seen. As a result, the lid will not snap into place, just rest. Regarding price, I found Amazon to have the widest variety. I did not feel that plastic would hold up to years of use, and I wanted a box that wouldn't need replacing in 2-3 years. So I spent more than I had planned, but I feel better about this one than the alternatives. Plus the color will go with many decors, and the box doesn't have excessive bulk like some of the wooden boxes.

a tad pricey, which was ok if it was perfect, but the top doesn't QUITE occlude with the bottom. it's close. but when one is giving a gift, and taking the time to hand-write recipes to put in it .... well, one wishes for perfection. alas. fits with the decor tho. *shrug*

I was very disappointed in this recipe box. Given the price, I thought it would be very well made, but that was not the case. The top of the box is supposed to rest on the bottom of the box, however the two are not exactly the same size (and therefore it does not close properly). It was also very difficult to receive a return label and I have not yet received a refund for this item. Very, very disappointed.
