Editorial Reviews

Review

Enduring Justice is a dynamic and powerful installment to the Defenders of Hope series. Amy Wallace has crafted an engaging, tense story of racial hate, repressed pain, and redeemed lives. Enduring Justice is a great read!”
–Mark Mynheir, homicide detective and author of The Night Watchman

“In Enduring Justice, Amy Wallace has done what few writers can. She’s given us a realistic portrayal of life, while finding hope in the despair. Pay attention to this one. She’ll be around for a long time to come.”
–Brandt Dodson, author of White Soul and Daniel’s Den

“Amy Wallace writes spine-tingling prose. Prepare for plenty of adrenaline spikes as Enduring Justice races relentlessly from crisis to crisis. Wallace seamlessly blends the characters’ personal triumphs and tragedies with a time bomb of a domestic terrorist plot that threatens the core liberties of the nation.”
–Jill Elizabeth Nelson, author of Reluctant Burglar and Evidence of Murder

“If you love breath-stealing suspense, unforgettable characters, and remarkable spiritual depth in your fiction, Enduring Justice is a book to savor. Amy Wallace is at her best with this poignant, grace-filled addition to her deeply satisfying Defenders of Hope Series.”
–Claudia Mair Burney, author of Wounded: A Love Story

“Amy Wallace packs an emotional punch in her new novel, Enduring Justice. She deftly confronts the shame and horror of child abuse by opening up the bruised psyches of its victims. Yet she also finds a way to take readers inside the emotional struggles of FBI agents sworn to bring the perpetrators of this most shameful act to justice. Wallace has penned an unforgettable novel that won’t soon be forgotten.”

“The third book in Amy Wallace’s Defenders of Hope series is the crème de la crème! Enduring Justice is another mulilayered FBI suspense novel that will keep you hanging on to your seat until the last page. While struggling with the fine line between revenge versus justice, Michael Parker learns to rely on God while the storms of life are raging. Amy does such a beautiful job in bringing her characters to life that you feel like part of the family. I look forward to more of Amy Wallace’s books!”
–Lori Kasbeer, Christian Women Online magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars on the edge of your seat, April 27, 2009
By Amydeanne (Canada) - See all my reviews
While I've never read the first 2 bks, my understanding is the same characters follow through. However, just finishing this book, it is a fantastic book on it's own.

Amy's writing reminds me immediately of Dee Henderson or Brandt Dodson--Hard core suspense. It doesn't hold back. The action starts right from the get-go & draws you in immediately.

Enduring Justice is a dark & intense read, but worthy of the time. It is a uncomfortable read at times b/c it touches subjects that are real--racism, bigotry, rape,& family issues.BUT it also gives hope to these issues.I love that Amy shares her personal story in the end notes. It really adds to the story and makes it more empowering. She says "Enduring Justice grew out of my journey where I've come to see He is the one who puts shattered lives, hearts, and people back together again." Wow! Even though it is fiction, I can't help but feel honored to read this book... knowing that some of the emotions were very real and raw. :wtg Amy for putting forth such a scary personal area for all of us to see!

The other thing I love about this book is how Amy wrote this. Each character shares a different angle of the story, and you'll be able to find someone to relate to. I really appreciate the fact that the characters are Christan. It's like when you read a mainstream book, or watch a movie and think to yourself , "Oh! They should be praying!".. or "arghhhhhhh why don't they see God's way???" (or at least that's usually the way I feel when I'm watching/reading mainstream). The beauty in Enduring Justice is that it's there! Amy adds in God and it really makes the book so much more! The struggle with emotions in this book from the un-forgiveness, and the rage are well represented. But most of all it really shows the hope and the healing we have by listening to God and letting His truth release us.

This is a great read, and if you're looking for an edge of the seat thriller, this one is it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Flashback to Abuse, May 4, 2009
Enduring Justice, by Amy Wallace

The book opens with the reader finding out about Hanna Kessler's "secret" of past abuse, and the author slowly divulges what will become Hanna's present demons, in a series of flashbacks that Hanna would rather have kept hidden and private.

Hanna's love interest, Michael Parker, is hot on the trail of solving a missing child case, with striking detials to an incident that Hanna knows more than she is willing to tell.

The main character's past abuse and relationship with her father become blurry at times, with Hanna more concerned at "protecting" her father from finding out the truth of her abuse, than Hanna squaring what happened to her and beginning her "healing process" to be able to move on with her life.

The book may have had a more believable story line if Hanna had been written as a stronger female lead character. All in all, it was a decent read, but it leaves the reader wondering if all of Hanna's personal issues were really resolved in the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tough issues, Christian theme, May 1, 2009
Enduring Justice is book three of the Defenders of Hope Series by Amy Wallace. However, you don't have to read books one and two to easily understand and keep up with the action in Enduring Justice. This is a book about a grown woman's battle to come to grips with the fact she was molested as a child by a family friend, a secret she has kept her entire life, until now. Aside from her personal struggles is the fact that her brother and boyfriend are involved in law enforcement and regularly have occasion to try to bring child abusers and predators to justice. When the protagonist "fesses up" to her loved ones, she also hopes to find justice in the legal system to prevent this predator from hurting others. The second, related story line involves the ugly world of white supremacists and their terrorist activities which strike too close to home. This is a good, clean cut, Christian themed justice thriller.
