Editorial Reviews

Maurice Jarre's acclaimed score for Enemy Mine is a work of two distinct personalities. Just when you think you're listening to a challenging, exotic and endlessly creative score for an entirely electronic ensemble, Jarre strikes up the band, delivering a powerful and sweeping orchestral work. Together, the two halves make for one of Maurice Jarre's most powerful scores of the period.

3.0 out of 5 stars Highly anticipated, huge dissapointment May 16, 2013

I'm probably the biggest fan of this movie that has ever lived. I've always loved the music and have always wanted an expanded version of the soundtrack to be released, as I am sure many fans of the film have for many years.

What the F is with the limited pressing and outrageously unaffordable price?

Are you kidding me? The one album I've been waiting for since as long as I've liked music and soundtracks, and not only do they skimp on the pressing, they skimp on the music too. I can count at least 2 scenes that were left out of this so called 'deluxe edition'. The scene where he runs across the field to save Zammis (awesome song), the part where Davidge gets shot in the volcano, the entire mine scene at the end, the part where he tries to open the cage, etc.

I love that this came out but I don't understand why they couldn't just include the 2 or 3 extra tracks (which are some of the best music in the movie), and not make it 80 f'in dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jarre at his orchestral finest October 9, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
For being a science fiction that is rarely regarded as great, Maurice Jarre poured his heart and soul into the music for this score. The ending orchestral bash and crash is one of the finest orchestrations of any film score in the history of movies, up there with Rosza's Ben Hur and William's ET.
