Since the regular edition has already been reviewed a few times, I'll start with discussing the collector's edition's bonus content. For the collector's edition, you get the nifty (and quite sturdy) slipcase, the collector's cards, and the bonus DVD. Unlike in some games, for balance reasons, you obviously get no in-game advantage for buying the collector's edition (like getting extra weapons for the NC INTERACTIVE Guild Wars Special Edition ( Windows )), and a nifty flying whelp for World Of Warcraft Burning Crusade Collector's Edition). Having said that, if you are a Quake Fan (and I am, having bought action figures to adorn my office and such), the extra content is well worth the extra 10 bucks. As I had said, the slipcase is very well made, with a nice pocket to put all the stuff in, the picture cards are very well drawn and good sized (about 5 by 8 inches?), and the bonus DVD is good. I'll be honest, I haven't looked at the bonus DVD much, since I've been too busy playing the game! (I may update my review after watching the bonus DVD in its entirety.) I would also like to point out that the collector's edition is still in the regular small game form factor, so this game will fit on your shelf (unlike some of the other collector's editions out there that have the large form factor, taking in a full 12 by 18 inches or so).

I did also want to point out some good features of Quake Wars (either edition).
1. No intrusive copy protection for single players (in fact, you don't even need internet connection to install the game [unlike Valve games, for example])
2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good game, reasonable price May 26, 2011

ET:QW is a great team based game. Even though it is a few years old, the gameplay mechanics are solid and is very fun. Teamwork is very important, and although it can be hard to find a well coordinated team, there are always competent bots at your disposal. I bought the game for $7 including shipping and am not disappointed. If you're looking for some quick fun and are currently bored of the current games I suggest that you pick this game up. For less than $10 it's a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quake wars May 19, 2009

This game is really well made - high quality everything. The one thing that stops this game from being the funnest ever is how much work it is to play. It is exhausting. another negative is that the GDF or human-side have a very small selection of weapons to use. It really is a great game beyond that though.

High system requirements by the way. (really sweet graphics if you have a nice system)And the bots are also high quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great team based FPS April 11, 2009
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Collector's
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is not your typical Quake game.
First off, if you`re looking for a deep, story based shooter, you won`t find it here.
Basically this installment in the popular series takes place between
Quake and Quake 2, where the Strogg are finally invading Earth after they finished their own wars on their home planet.
That is the only "story" your going to get.
First, the good:
1. Quake Wars shooting mechanics work great, forcing you to strategize and play as a team, if you don`t play as a team, YOU WILL LOSE.
2. Five different classes on each side, each with their own unique tools and abilities, aggressors/soldiers are heavy weapon specialists, and can plant explosives on objectives, medics/technicians can revive fallen allies, ETC., ETC.
3. The campaign and the multiplayer are both VERY objective based, you don`t have deathmatch, team deathmatch or capture the flag.
This may SOUND bad, but it`s actually a breath of fresh air in the genre.
Each map has certain objectives on each side that MUST be completed, constructed, defended, or destroyed, if you do ALL of the objectives and can`t get the last objective, you lose.
4. The teams, even though they are starkly different, are very well balanced, the Strogg have weaknesses the GDF can exploit and vice-versa.
5. You can only use your weapon you spawn with, now this may SOUND like a major pain, but this actually forces you to try different strategies, and use your abilities in that class to help your team.
And of course if your unhappy with your class you can always respawn as a different class, even a different team.
6.

4.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to spend several hours here... January 10, 2011

First, the game need to be updated and you need to download a 500+ Mb patch to play it (by now). This game is very well made and is NOT a simple war game. Is a team based game with objectives that really needs co-op play to enjoy it. You will NOT find a "Deathmatch" in here...if you are looking for it, you should try Modern Warfare, or Bad Company 2 for example. The game needs an online account to play (wich is obvious) but no stupid installation limits! A little confusing the first times but if you are a regular FPS gamer you'll catch it quick.

According to the Limited Edition Bonuses, well, you get a bonus DVD with videos (just trailers), concept art, a "downloads" section that features IM avatars, ringtones, and a pack of...thigs...to make an ETQW Fan site. Also, it comes with 10 cards that look really nice featuring more concept art and info on the game vehicles and weapons.

Overall, really good game, amusing, addictive and at great price!

P.D.: I received a booklet with a calendar look that contains maps of the game...but is not in the description.

New shrink wrapped Collectors Edition. Doesn't hold a candle to Black Ops 2 on a console but for Quake die hards it's a necessity. Don't try with an ATI card like I did at first. Read more
