Ok so first things first, the overall review. It is a good game but is not worth the $60 dollars i paid. I would pay $20-$30 dollars for it. It is surely not compareable with cod4 or 5.
PROS >Online is great. It is fun for sniping or just shotguns. > There are so many vehichle you can use which is very fun. There are 1,2,3, and 4 person vehicles. There is Atv's, Buggies, hummers, Armadilos, different sorts of tanks and different sorts of helicopters and boats. > Lots of different sorts of maps. > Choice to be two different speciseach with it own perks and disadvantages. There is the Strogg and the humans. For the strogg there is also lots of different futuristic guns and vehicles. > You can choose to be different classes like medics, mechanics, snipers, field soldiers and others. > You can build stuff like anti personel turrets or build bridges across ditches for tanks to get by. Cons > AI turn straight away and start shooting you even if you are 700 feet away. > You can't customize guns. > Can't switch controls around so there is always set controls > Not the great of graphics > Not as great as other gams like cod4 and 5 If you like online First person shooters you should get this. There are many different sort of gameplay.

This is a great shooter, and is vy easy to pick up and play. While the campaign is lacking, it makes its greatest showing in large online battles, with a vast amount of vehicles and maps its a very good game to own and enjoy with friends.

Very fun game with many possibilitys, each race human or strogg has there own classes which can do many different things ie hacking into your body and walking around as the other team mate to assasinate, or building turrents so you can sit back and repair vehicles and defend your base with that. theres also many vehicles that are avalible that are fun to use, jetpacks and mech robots are very fun. i'd say 5/5 gives you a good break from halo or somthing its not so competitive because even if your not a good shooter you can be a medic and heal your team or a constructor and build or repair things very fun imo!

This game was for my daughter for Christmas she had played this game before and wanted it. This game was a third of the price as a store good deal would buy from them again.

This game is meant to be played on multiplayer. That being said, there seems to be no one playing this game online. However, the campaign in single player will keep you busy for a while, and the ability to commandeer friendly vehicles is nice. If you just want to blast away at Strogg, or are a die hard Quake fan, get this game.

Awesome game with decent graphics. The controls are easy to pick up so getting started is not a problem. If you like COD4 then you will enjoy this game, especially on XBox Live with your friends. More maps and vehicles with tons of fun to be had. Get it if you enjoy FPS games like I do and join the Frag fest.

I have always been a fan of the quake series and I still have the originals. I read some of the reviews on amazon and due to many negative reviews, I decided I wouldn't buy it without trying it out. I downloaded the demo off of xbox live and I was very impressed with ID's work.
The gameplay is just like the originals. It is fast paced and requires good accuracy and fast reflexes. I finally found a game that isnt as slow and boring as COD. The strogg and the humans sides are balanced with creative vehicles and equally powerful weapons. I have heard complaints of not enough weapons. That is completely false. When you first start, the game lets you choose a class. Each class has different weapons specific to that class, as well as a basic rifle availible to all of the classes. The weapons cover the basics, as well as some extras. For the humans, there are shotguns, machine guns, a sniper rifle, a rocket launcher, a heavy machine gun, an uzi type sub machine gun, a standart pistol, a silenced pistol, as well as several variations of each of these. The strogg have several alien weapons including a rail gun, a plasma rifle, a lightening gun, a hyper blaster(kind of like a chaingun that fires lasers), a blaster pistol,a nail gun (kind of like a shotgun), and the dark matter gun. There is no lack of weapons unless you are used to the insane amount of weapons in COD4, which in my opinion has too many weapons. Why does a game have to have 9 different sniper rifles? I admit that the sounds in this game aren't the greatest, but they are perfectly acceptable and they pass my standards. For those who think that the sounds used are very outdated then you should pick up a copy of Wolfenstein 3D which was made in 1992. I can still enjoy that because I dont absolutely stress sounds. You don't buy a game because it has good sounds or because it has state of the art graphics, you buy it to experience the game play. Do you remember the game "Black"? Probably not. That game was supposed to be state of the art, it had the best graphics, best sound, and the best game engine. But then, why doesnt any one remember it? It is not remembered because the game was BORING and no one would play it. The accusation of bad graphics is also false if you play the console version or if you have a decent computer. This game runs off of the doom 3 engine, which has some pretty good graphics. I think that if you are another COD fanatic then you should avoid this game because it is not as boring, slow paced, and easy as COD. You should expect the fast paced, frenetic, intense experience as well as the quality that comes with all of the games in the quake series and all of the games made by ID software.

Having made the mistake of ignoring reviews I rented this, luckily I used enough common sense to do so (and not buy it). Quake Wars brings you into a lesser known Quake setting...your own planet. Strongly departed from the old Quake experience it at least draws upon some old familiarities.
The games pc counterpart delivered the goods, this once feels like faulty packaging. The online has many hiccups, and hideously poor graphics, but one can get a good game going. The single player experience on the other hand is pretty much the same as multiplayer, just without the whole social aspect tied in. Essentially you'll be completing objectified missions, broken down into easily digested proportions. Objectives become very linear upon realizing the formula. Making this definitely not a single player title. To justify no real single player or compelling story the multiplayer had to be top notch. Unfortunately it isn't, but has a great experience tracking system (that's not going to save you know buddy). You can obtain upgrades briefly per match, while only temporary they focus and reward the player for doing good based upon what class they are. Matches very in length generally with a duration of about twenty minutes or so. Long enough to complete objectives, but on harder settings it's a different story. One can easily maintain a good kill death ratio, have great accuracy, and a strong strategic plan...but with dull A.I. you're not going to get anywhere really. The timer runs out faster then you can defeat the enemy. Problem is it becomes a one sided war, more or less it's only you doing all the fighting! The weapons lack variety, the classes are dull, and both the multiplayer/singleplayer are lacking. The graphics as mentioned are cruddy, but some decent lighting saves it a bit. The controls are decent, frame rate not too bad. Vehicles seem a bit unbalanced, yet too weak when one uses them. The maps offer a bit of variety but not enough to save the game. Given over the course of a week to play it grew on me a pinch, still not worth a purchase though. Desolation swept the online with a drought of players (matches taking a long time to assemble the few players). Enemy Territory: Quake Wars seemed like such a strong potential idea, what happened?

Enemy Territory: Quake wars doesn't break any new ground. After playing similar titles I found this one to be medicore at best for some. There may be some out their who like the alien i.e. Strogg part of the game which is one of the few things that I liked. I guess I will list what I consider to be the goodies in the game. First all maps are available, You can play either side, you can practice with the bots. Strogg has Mech. That's about all I liked, What I didn't like, The sound is pitifull, your weapons sound like the very first games on a nitendo or a pc with a primitive sound card. Some of the vehicles you can't drive and shoot at same time. No 1st person view in the vehicles except for some turret views. A lot of these type of games can get repitive but are still fun, I was bored in about 2 hours and wished I had held out for Battlefield Bad Company and just rented ETQW. The graphics are medicore, To me the game looked like it was produced just to make money. Just from looking at the amount of reviews so far, two, it doesn't look like a lot of people have gotten too excited by it. Also some games the controller layout is pretty intuitive, this is not one of those games. No melee, you get a knife but by the time you switch to it or grenade, well it's too long to cycle through. Also like all Quake games it's speeded up which is ok unless you like a more realistic game like Call of Duty 4. This one always sound like a herd of mice fleeing a cat. My suggestion is to try it before you buy it. If you liked the pc version you will probaly like the 360 port.
