This album is solid, I can't really say much bad about it. The sound quality compared to the last album Rise or Die Trying is noticeably improved and the songs seem much more tightly knit. The songs are all pretty good, but the only reason I give it 4/5 is because there is nothing here that caught my ear. All the songs are B+ material and aren't as catchy as the last album was. The ones that seem to actually be catchy seem a bit repetitive and get old after a few listens such as "Wasting Time". However there are some gems on this album, like "What The Hell Is A Gigawatt?", "Nineteen with Neck Tats", "One Step at a Time", and "This Body Pays the Bill$". Those songs enough are worth the price of admission. I've been listening for several days now and I feel that the album will grow on me, I was just hoping for something to knock my socks off from the beginning.

Final Verdict: Do yourself a favor and buy it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow., March 10, 2010

Man... not even really sure what to say about this album. I went to Newbury Comics near where I live in Lowell Massachusetts to get this record when it came out (yesterday), but didn't get a chance to listen to it until today... and that's pretty much all I've been doing all day. I think I've played it at least 6 times today. I LOVED Rise or Die Trying, and these guys are awesome in concert. Saw them do their annual Christmas show in Worcester this year. But Rise or Die Trying doesn't even hold a candle to this album. The first single "It Must Really Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now" is just an incredibly epic way to start off the album, and it never slows down from there. Their synth player, Josh Lyford, has a much more prominent vocal role on this album, which is awesome because it definitely adds a lot to their sound. My favorite songs must be "On A Saturday", "What the Hell is a Gigawatt", and "One Step at a Time." It's hard to say, though, because I honestly feel like every song is as good as the one before it. BUY THIS ALBUM! You will not regret it! Support these guys as much as you can. They're a great group from around where I live, and it's wicked good to see them getting the recognition they deserve. Give the 30-second samples a listen. If you like what you hear, you'll love this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four year strong is f f f f FRESH!!!, October 29, 2011
This review is from: Enemy of the World [Vinyl] (Vinyl)
okay, so four year strong is seriously the most underrated band, and yet most deserving band, that there is on the market today. this band delivers absolutely everything anyone could possibly ever want from a band without going to the extremes of gayass popstardom and selling out. they seriously have always crafted their work into a vibe that gets you straight up pumped up and wanting to go do something that will change the world. not gunna lie too, they make a great longboard jam session to sing your heart out to and dance your arse off. but anyways, this is a type of music that is able to get you pumped up without that gay ass screaming b.s. and is just overdone and not original anymore. I seriously wish that this band was recognized for their full potential and headlining tours better than ozzfest. good vibes, good music, insane riffs, technically relatively hard music to play on the guitar, it sounds absolutely amazing and it gives faith that the music industry is no longer dead anymore. ill admit, four year strong is a hero to the rock community and brings a huge breath of fresh air into music. To anyone who is able to bother reading this, this album alone will have the potential to change your life for the better. the rest of their work is good enough to inspire you throughout the hardest times and put a smile on your face. go four year strong, you guys are icons in my book, and despite the fact that i have yet to hear you on the radio, you are always incorporated into every playlist i make and i will always reccomend you to a fellow rockers. cant wait to see you all in spokane, and remember, this band is our generations "the beattles", even though the beattles suck by comparison.... just sayin.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Get Enough Of It., March 3, 2011
This review is from: Enemy of the World (Audio CD)
I can't say I'm hardcore in the least, but I enjoy a good song just as well. This album blew me away, I heard Find My Way Back first and continued to play through the album several times before knowing that I had to buy it. This is a group of amazing artists, great lyrics, guitar licks and overall wonderful album. I shouldn't influence your decision though, you can listen to the entire album right here, go on. You know know want to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, February 18, 2011
This review is from: Enemy of the World (Audio CD)
The first time I heard Four Year Strong, I wasn't even sure what to think. This album, while not as catchy as Rise or Die, is amazing. There's a great balance throughout the entire album and it's really a great representation of the band. The energy that this band presents in real life is matched in the energy on the album. Definitely an excellent album by a fantastic band!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the best album in the Pop-punk with Hardcore genre!!, September 4, 2010
By
This review is from: Enemy of the World (Audio CD)
NOTE: 99% of this was written May 10th, 2010. I just never got around to posting it.

My First Impression:
When I first got Enemy of the World, I listened through most of the songs. I would listen up through the 1st chorus, then decide to keep listening or skip to the next one. And after my initial run-through, I thought, "Oh no. There's only like 4...maybe 4 ½ good songs on here." The standouts -initially- were "It Must Really Suck To...", "What the Hell is a Gigawatt?", "Enemy of the World", and (you may think I'm crazy, but I initially liked) "Find My Way Back."

Well, here I am 9 days later, and now I love this album! It's been many years since I've found an album this good throughout. I'm going to give a mini-review for each song below (or the first 4 at least).

TRACK LISTING
[Note: I'm going to abbreviate some of the titles, as well as these words below, in interest of readability.
-Legend-
ISO = initial stand-out track
EotW = Enemy of the World album
IMO = in my opinion
MML = most memorable line (from lyrics)]
--
1 It Must Really Suck... ISO. This is actually my favorite song on the album (if I had to pick one). I love the catchiness of the lyrics and how the song was crafted. Has the catchiest chorus on EotW, IMO.
MML: "Don't fix it if it hasn't broken yet. Don't regret it if it hasn't happened yet..." (Okay, so the whole chorus, if not the whole song, is memorable!)

2 On A Saturday What can I say, the pre-chorus (including the MML) is the best thing about this song, and is reminiscent of Sum-41 type punk-yelling. I find the "whoa-oh-oh"s to be gimmicky. The intro reminds me of Paramore. All that said, I do enjoy listening to it.
MML: "Cause in a world gone mad, the taller you are, the harder you fall."

3 Wasting Time The weakest song on here, but at least it's not painful to sit through. What hurts this song the most is there's no distinguishable chorus. The guys still give great vocal performances. MML: "Well I can see you're waiting, but I DON'T CARE!!" (you have to hear it.)

4 Nineteen W/ Neck Tatz didn't like this song at first, but it grew on me. The intro -which I used to think was trying too hard- I now love.
MML: "We built this, we built this, we built this city on heart and soul!"

5 Find My Way Back
6 What The Hell Is A Gigawatt?
7 One Step At A Time
8 The Body Pays The Bill$
9 Paul Revere's Midnight Ride
10 Flannel Is The Color Of My Energy
11 Enemy Of The World

Now keep in mind that this album is jam-packed with memorable lyrics, so each line (MMLs) above may just be one catchy part from the song.

The great thing about this album is that even on the weaker tracks, there is something about the song that will grab you, something either musically and/or lyrically. In my opinion there are 4 "weaker tracks" on this album, but even on those, the lyrics are just...well, they're either about standing strong, or they're just sang/yelled/screamed so awesomely, that you can`t help but be sucked in. To be truthful, it might not even matter WHAT they're singing, because they do it with such passion and conviction. And I think you'll know what I'm talking about if you listen carefully to this album. In the end, maybe that's what makes this album so appealing; because they're not just playing, they're playing with heart and soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Strong, April 8, 2010

This review is from: Enemy Of The World (MP3 Download)
It's not disk two of Rise or Die Trying, but it's definitely still Four Year Strong. If you come in expecting the same guitar riffs as Rise you may be dissapointed, but give the album a second chance. After a few listens it grows on you.
