5.0 out of 5 stars Best I have Had
When traveling to Disney with my Grandkids, we ate at the Steakhouse at the Contemporary Hotel, I explained that I had Celiac Sprue, and could have no gluten. The chef said he had a special roll that was Gluten free and would give me 2 if I wanted. I said I had never found an eatable roll, but I would try. Well, it was the best "BREAD" I had had since I was diagnosed...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but spoil fast
These are good tasting, and unusually soft to chew for gluten-free products, so I will continue to buy them, but the rolls should be individually wrapped so they don't spoil so soon after opening the package. After only two days in the fridge they started growing green mold!

Well, it was the best "BREAD" I had had since I was diagnosed with CS. What a treat. I asked him what it was, and he said it was a product form ENER-G, available on the internet and that he (and several other restaurants at Disney, I discovered) serve them to people with food allergies all the time. Are they perfect? No, but they are as good as I have been able to find.

We keep a gluten free household, and use these rolls frequently. Toasted for breakfast or sandwiches, or microwaved as a dinner roll with supper. They travel well, and are handy to always have around.

Unfortunately, a few of my deliveries from Amazon have arrived with one or more 6-packs already full of mold, and foods are not returnable.

I was introduced to this product at Disney World... and was in heaven. If you heat it up for 10 minutes in the oven, it gets a nice crust... be careful though, it can burn if in too long. Upon opening, I put them in a ziploc bag and leave them on the counter. They have remained good for 3 weeks at minimum - I eat them pretty quickly. Can't say enough good stuff about this roll!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best-Tasting Gluten-free/Allergen-free Roll Ever!!!, January 24, 2010

I tried these after reading some of the reviews. These rolls ARE good! My kids love them! I love them! They look, smell & taste like biscuits (they should call them biscuits, not rolls - biscuits have a crunchy top, rolls are soft). Plus, they are free of several other things my kids are allergic to. (Hey, you think going gluten-free is bad, try no gluten, dairy, corn products, nuts, or cane sugar, all at once. Count your blessings!) They double nicely as small hamburger buns, too. And thanks to the vacuum packaging, the unopened packages (6 rolls/pack) will keep in your pantry for a whole year! (check the date on the pack). I save about $2/pkg ($12/case)! Once opened, keep in the refrigerator. (We have a thermometer & make sure ours is @ 40 deg F. They keep a week in our frige, if they last that long.) You can freeze them BUT you'll have to open/unseal the package (read instructions on bag/package). We've never tried freezing them, so I don't know how they taste after that.

Now, here are a few drawbacks that I know of:

1. They're not pre-sliced. Try using a bagel holder/slicer.

2. They're not as soft on the inside as real biscuits, but still good.

3. If you toast one, don't leave it in a warm toaster/oven while you're busy, or it will get hard & crunchy.

4. Since it requires refrigeration after opening, it's not good for camping or emergency supplies unless you eat all 6 rolls in one day. You might be able to go 2 days (i.e. 2 breakfasts), just make sure to visually inspect it first. For those situations, try Ener-G's little 2-slice bread packs (google their website & see - I don't think Amazon stocks those...)

5. Occasionally, a package gets unsealed during shipping. Take the pkg out of the bag covering & check it all over (before purchase, if possible). (And if you find a moldy pkg, please tell the store owner.) Ditto for Amazon purchases - open that box, take off all the bag wrappers & check those pkgs! Amazon has given me credit for a moldy pkg before (but only the 1 moldy pkg, not the whole case). You only have 30 days to do this, so if you find pkg #3 is moldy 40 days later, you won't get a refund for it. (Still beats frozen bread, which I can't buy from Amazon & thus have to pay more for @ the local store...)

These are so good even my wheat eating husband loves them toasted. They are soft enough to eat like a regular roll (best if warmed). My favorite way is split and toasted - they are delicious!
I find they last for 2 to 3 weeks in the fridge if I am out of town. I am careful to open the package with DRY freshly washed hands and a clean DRY knife, and I reseal immediately and refrigerate.

This a great all purpose bun for toast, small hamburger, hot sandwich, or garlic toast. It tastes great if you toast it. Toasting is a must! Do not microwave it. This has a lighter texture than the English Muffins of the same brand ( I recommend those as well).

I freeze these individually. Use fold-over top sandwich bags, twisting the top tightly around bun gets more air out than ziploc. I put the wrapped buns back in the Ener-g plastic bag, making sure the twisted ends are tucked under, sealing it with a twist-tie. As with any GF bread product I have found, serving the bun warm and/or toasted greatly improves the taste.
