A Great Horse Game!,
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ener-G Horse Riders (Video Game)
Ener-G Horse Riders is a great game. You have many, many breeds of horses to chose from. From Palominos to Andalusians. You can have up to 6 horses which you buy at the Golden Pines horse farm. You can sell horses too, but not the first one you start out with. You earn money which are "tokens" when you take your horse on a trail ride. You can also earn apples which your horse eats while you train it to walk, trot, jump, stop, and do 90 degree and 180 degree turns. With your tokens you can buy more horses- even foals! You can also go to the store to buy carrots, toys and tack. You can also participate in tournaments. The only thing is, you have a very limited time to groom your horse so when times up, either your horse is totally clean or still dirty, your done. Then when you go back to clean its hooves, give it a bath, or feed it, you start all over again like you never cleaned or fed it! Besides that its pretty fun. I would recomend it for ages 8-12.

This game was a gift from my niece. She beat the game in about 48 hours. However the good thing is that there is still new things to do on the game that can only be done once you complete all the levels. So all in all she loves this game!

In Ener-G Horse Rider you are trying to protect your town and the wild horses by winning competitions, which there are only five. You get to pick out your horse from a number of breeds, but the color choices are very limited. The story part of the game is very short. I bought it last night and finished it today (take into consideration I had college level homework and classes in between). You are given one horse and you can buy others, but they are very expensive (you would have to replay the competitions multiple times to afford one). The foals are cheap and I currently have one on my game, but I don't know when (and if) it will turn into a horse. You can groom, wash, picked out the hooves, and clean the stall. Cleaning the stall found to be very unrealistic given that you have three spots to clean and then when you put fresh straw down you just put it in the four corners. The graphics are fairly good for a DS game, but they're not as good as Horse Life. This game is produced by Ubisoft and Lexis Numerique two very common companies for producing horse games and of the ones I've played from them, they have all been adequate. It entertained me for the time as I have had to sell my horse recently and playing these horse games eases the pain, so I can't be too hard on it.Take into consideration that this game is marketed for tweens and I think that is an appropriate age range. I still haven't found a DS game (other than Horse Life) that is comparable to their counterparts onother systems.

My daughter, who is 10, completed all the challenges of this game within 2 hours and she was so disappointed that it was so easy and that there was so little to the game. Once you have completed the tasks the game is just stale after that. She was also frustrated that there were so few horses to chose from and that she was unable to have any say so in chosing the rider of her horse. She said "this game is a rip off". Before you buy you should read the reviews here and then chose your game ~ unfortunately we did not do that. I guess that is the price of tuition but when your child has been saving her allowance for weeks it is a high price. :-(

Ener-G horse riders is great. It's one of my favorites when I just want a simple game. I love that it has many different places to ride, and that when the story is over, you can keep playing. Now for the pros and cons:Cons The graphic are very good for a nintendo game, but it does have some pixilation in the background scenery. The rider's posture on the horse isn't very realistic. The tack isn't very realistic either. It is a very short game - it took me about half an hour to complete the storyline. Pros They have a fair amount of breeds to choose from in the beginning, and once the story is over, sometimes you'll find a mustang foal when out riding. There are a fair amount of places to ride. When the story is over you can keep playing. It has a good storyline. The horses and foals are easy to take care of. It's a great game for when you want something simple or if you're a young gamer just starting out.

I have spent way too much money on gaming for the kids, but this disc was very reasonable and now I found a way not to despise all their games. Buy from Amamzon!

Loved the game, it kept me occupied. Neat features and love how even after you win the game you can continue on it.

My teen was able to master the game in three hours. It didn't meet up to the expectations. Probably do not want to buy unless you are UNDER 8!

i thought the game was a bit fun when i got it but it's a very short lived adventure in the game then it's just leaves you to play around with the horses and competitions and do whatever, i personally don't think it's a good enough game or entertaining enough (now) to do that for boredom unless there is nothing else to do but i don't think this is a bad game im just a bit disappointed the adventure ended and there wasn't another.
