5.0 out of 5 stars Get A Charge
Who would think that you could charge a battery with a battery? I never would have, but this Ipod Battery back up REALLY works. If you have no access to an outlet, this little charger will for sure charge up your IPOD in just a short time. Dont let your IPOD run down all the way. Take this with you on an airplane and you will have Ipod tunes and video on your vacation...

Not a toy, so disregard the start ratings, not sure how Amazon came up with toy ratings for this item, it is an appliance.

Anyway.......

We purchased this as a battery backup for our iPod Nano and Touch

gear...for long road trips/flights...it works well...with one caveat...it DOES NOT work with the Touch 2G...Apple changed the connector starting with the Touch 2G, and this device does NOT work with it.....otherwise, it works well with the latest Nano iPods....

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective And Easy To Use, August 4, 2008

Extremely simple to use. Just plug into your iPod and flip the switch. Result is a fast, full charge, and (as the power cord is long enough) you can place the battery pack in your back pocket, your iPod in your front pocket, and charge and listen on the go.

Highly recommended.

I have spent hundreds of dollars buying external battery pack for my phone, (HTC EVO), and my Ipod Touch. So far, few of them work as well as this power pack. Because it comes with an older tip for Iphone/Ipod, many buyers believe that they got themselves a bad product. One has to buy an A133 tip for newer Ipod/Iphone, and A97 tip for an Android phone (micro USB). With a set (4) of AA rechargeable batteries, I was able to play movies on my Ipod from Los Angels to JFK, and JFK to half way to Africa!!! Because I carry extra set of rechargeable batteries, I was

able to swap my dead batteries for a new one. One of the reviewers complained about being able to charge his phone only once or twice. Had he has any sense at all, he would have bought himself a set of rechargeable batteries instead. Because of my job (a flight attendant for Delta airlines), I often see my passengers with a dead phone, if they have an Iphone, I simply let them borrow my charger (with an A133 tip) or A97 tip if they have an Android phone. A word of warning, if you use an A97 for your Android phone, please be careful with the tip, one must not bend it in anyway, you would damage your phone's "charging port" (you might not be able to charge it anymore). Simply leave it on a flat table and not moving it around, if possible.

I had read a review regarding this charger not supporting 2nd generation ipod touches and was hoping that it would support the 3rd generation touch... nope. It displayed a depressing "Charging is not supported with this accessory." Now it's a 4 battery paperweight. The "Energizer Energi To Go iPod Charger" I gave to my father for his ipod will charge my 2nd generation touch and did work with my father's 3rd generation (which I have now). I was just greedy and thought 4 batteries were better than 2. It is most unfortunate.

If you examine both, the construction is a little flimsy as noted by other reviewers. This charger is made of lightweight cheap plastic and I would be concerned about the case cracking if I should drop it with a load of batteries in it.

Clever product, however it does not work with my Ipod Nano(2008/2009 model). The manufacturer should be a bit more specific about lack of compatability with certain models.

This product works as advertised, and the lithium batteries that come with it can power this device for many recharges. You can also use your own 4 AA batteries. The only problem is that it only has one adapter instead of many so that your other devices would be covered too.

This is a 4xAA power source for electronic devices. This along with a couple tips provides backup power for iPod Touch, Motorola i465, Palm Pixi Plus and Garmin eTrex Legend. When out in the desert, it's nice knowing I have backup. Backups with internal batteries need a 110v, 12v or USB. This unit was cheaper than the iGo 2xAA unit. I may buy another as backup for my backup.

1.0 out of 5 stars complete garbage, June 29, 2011
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Energizer Audio Power Pack, IPOD (Toy)
This thing is a complete piece of garbage! Great idea, but very poor build quality. I got one for Christmas, used it ONCE and it worked great. The first time I used it, it had a full charge from the factory. Used it on a trip and it charged a couple of cell phones just fine. Then I went to recharge it before my next trip, and....well...it won't take a charge. So now I'm left with a very expensive single-use recharger for my cell phone. Thanks for the wonderful piece or crap, Energizer!

PS. With the return policies most places have (and warranties most devices have), I'm thinking that purchasing Christmas gifts at Christmas time is a thing of the past, because by the time you actually use some of the things for the first time, the warranty is already expired, so if you end up with a lemon like I did, you're just SOL.
