4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money, November 19, 2004

This review is from: Energizer(R) AA, AAA & 9V Battery Charger, NiCd & NiMH (Electronics)
This charger is compact so you can take anywhere. It can charge four batteries at a time (AA or AAA) and can recharge 9v batteries. As with most chargers the plug is retractable so you won't worry about it messing your clothes if you put it in your luggage.

I gave it four stars though because it does not have an indicator that tells you if the batteries need charging and it will not tell you when the batteries are fully charged. This means you will have to take a note on the time you recharge your batteries in order not to fry them. Besides this point I will recommend this product. Remember this only charges rechargeable batteries. Any other battery could damage the charger.

4.0 out of 5 stars A note about automatic swich off, August 18, 2005
This review is from: Energizer(R) AA, AAA & 9V Battery Charger, NiCd & NiMH (Electronics)
Efrain Rivera Jr. "UltraJ" in his review has stated that the charger doesn't show the status of charging. This is partially true. This charger has a built in timer which will switch the charger off after a specified time (i guess it is 7.5 hours). Once the charger stops charging the green indicator light will be switched off. This means that the charger will not be continuously charging the battery for ever but will stop the charging after about 7.5 hours. Of course if there was a power outage or if the charger was removed from the mains then the timer will get reset when it is reconnected. I know this is not the perfect solution but it is a welcome one that would solve most of the problems. I have a Kodak charger which is intelligent and will stop charging once the battery charge is full. It does charge the supplied Kodak battery pack well but if I use the charger to charge other make batteries, it mostly switches off charging after about 5 minutes, even if the battery is fully depleted. So you see sometimes smart technology can become a pain. After experiencing this, I consider this Energizer charger's technology the best possible solution.
