4.0 out of 5 stars Great batteries, decent price
Not much to say about the batteries. They are Energizer and the brand certainly meets everyone's expectations. My batteries were received and the date on the package was well in advance, so no complaints here.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good batteries - absolutely lousy packaging
I always pack AA and AAA batteries. Frankly, it is often easier to just use alkalines and incur the expense rather than be faced with need to recharge.

The Energizer batteries are fine. They're just as good as any other major brand.

But the packaging on these is absolutely horrible.

I wound up using kitchen utensils to force open...

Not much to say about the batteries. They are Energizer and the brand certainly meets everyone's expectations. My batteries were received and the date on the package was well in advance, so no complaints here.

However, the price is a bit above average. If you are ordering for convenience fine. But if you want the best deal, you will likely need to go to your local discount store. The local store usually runs about $.70 per battery or less when purchased in bulk (more than 4). At the current Amazon price ($13.95), that comes out to about $.85 per battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars OK, I've always been partial to the bunny!, January 9, 2008
This review is from: Energizer E91BP-16H Max AA Alkaline Battery (16 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
Regardless of what its chief competitors tout about their respective products, I've been satisfied for many years with the performance of Energizer batteries. They are long-lasting and are priced just right for the thrift-conscious shopper.

They do "keep going and going and going..."

I thought this was a decent, prudent purchase, for it saved and saves me from having to drive to the store. Now of course, I could have searched for cheaper prices, but nothing to me beat Amazon Prime, and I am going to take advantage of it until I am either broke, or my computer stops working...(ha). Thanks Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap batteries., January 12, 2009

Did a Google search for a 16 pack of AA batteries and found this deal. The batteries didn't come in the blister pack shown in the image, but they did come in 4 small genuine Energizer cardboard boxes. I'm not sure if that affects shelf-life, but I guess I'll find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, May 13, 2010
This review is from: Energizer E91BP-16H Max AA Alkaline Battery (16 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
I used to get rechargeables, but rechargeables are a hassle and get weaker and weaker over time. These Energizers work great for me. I always remember reading about what 1 Consumer Reports article said, all batteries are pretty much the same. Your best deal? Get whatever's on sale, that way you get the most for your buck. So I always get large packs as they cost the least per unit.

As long as the expiration date is current, the batteries are solid. And with Prime Shipping, you get it second day for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value - excellente valeur, November 8, 2009
This review is from: Energizer E91BP-16H Max AA Alkaline Battery (16 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
Even though I prefer rechargeable this animals come in quite handy. You never have enough so it is best to purchase them in this value pack. I pretty much know that a battery is a battery however like knowing when I had a new haircut it just feels better to use a name brand.

Just be sure, when opening the pack to rip through the plastic part of the container or you will ruin the proof of purchase.

The package says that the batteries have a 7-year shelf life but I do not see the expiration date.

I will not go through all the nefarious used of this product like energizing your bunny. However, I am compelled to repeat they keep going' keep going' keep going'

5.0 out of 5 stars As Advertised, April 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Energizer E91BP-16H Max AA Alkaline Battery (16 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
I bought this package because it was perfect for my immediate needs - I had just bought 2 bow lights and 2 stern lights for 2 kayaks, which required a grand total of 16 AA batteries to operate.

I never use alkaline batteries unless I absolutely have to - I really try to stick with the NiMH batteries where they make sense, in high-drain electronics or items that will be used immediately. But these kayak lights will only be used when we are out on the water after dark, which is not likely to happen more than once a month. And they're LED based, so they'll probably last a year or more on a single set of batteries. Alkaline batteries just can't be beat for shelf life, and while they will be powering those lights this time next year, NiMH batteries would have to be charged before every outing because they drain themselves when not in use.

Electricity captured in a tube. We live in the future. Not as long lasting as Duracell but good enough.
