I purchased this battery to replace the original NiCad battery in my older (10+ years) Toshiba cordless phone. I was concerned that changing to a battery with NiMH chemistry may not work, and may cause safety problems or damage the phone & base charger. After research on the internet, which indicated that it was not recommended to use a NiCad charger for a NiMH battery (However, it did not specifically discuss a phone battery), I decided to contact Energizer via telephone. The support tech indicated that it would be fine to use, no problem, but it would just take longer to charge the battery.

My original NiCad battery was only 270 mAh, and the replacement NiMH one is 700 mAh, which is great because the higher the mAh rating the longer talk time you will have - in this case about 2 1/2 times longer. I have had this battery in use for a little over a month now and it works great. It charged fine, no extra heat buildup while charging, and it's nice to have the longer talk time. I let it originally charge for about 36 hours before using just to make sure it got a 100% initial charge.

The only complaint I have was installing it in my phone. The "Universal" plug is two separate wires, the connectors are small and were very hard hold and keep straight while connecting them. My two wires went side by side and there was not much "finger room" in the battery compartment. However, that is not done often, so I still give the battery 5 stars.
My battery was not yellow color, it was black and made by Audiovox for Energizer and was in an Energizer labeled package.

What can I say about a phone battery? It fit, it was compatible, and it works.
