I got this item together with Energizer Household Lighting HRG6CN31E LED Flameless 6-Inch Candle with Holder to see which one looks more realistic and finer. I prefer simpler shapes and designs which means in my case that I would have preferred the round one, previously mentioned, to this square one...BUT
I have to admit this square candle looks finer than the round one, both are acrylic but this one looks more like glass maybe because the inside wall is opaque like a sanded glass, while the other one is completely transparent showing a simulated wax candle inside. However, the flickering effect is equally realistic on both. What is also nicer on this one over the round one is that you don't need to pick it up to press a button to turn it on/off, you just touch the base to do this. Remember that both will turn off automatically after four (4) hours.

The Energizer Flameless Candle is a very good decoration and utility light for a room. It has a 4 3/4 inch wide x 1 1/8 inch high square black base with 4 7/8 inch high plastic translucent yellow tinted sides that taper slightly from the base to the top opening. The total height of the "candle" is 6 inches. The light source in the base emits a soft light that gives a flame like glow to the sides. The light flickers subtly so that you detect it only when looking directly at the candle.

The unit takes 3 double A Energizer batteries included with the candle. The light does not take much energy to run, so the batteries last for some time. The 300 hour life of batteries advertised on the box is a reasonable average considering my extensive use of the candle over a nine day period. The candle has a 4 hour automatic shut off making it a good night light at bedtime, and, of course, you do not have to worry about a fire if you leave it on. It is safe to use anywhere and generates no detectable heat due to battery use.

The touch on and off mechanism on all 4 sides of the base works well. That makes it not only decorative in dim light dining and party conditions but also useful in power outage situations when you are groping in the dark for an alternative light source. The illumination is not bright enough to read by comfortably, but it certainly lights your way in a dark room.

This is a very nice product that adds atmosphere to settings of social gatherings like parties and meals, and also provides light in living areas like staircases and bedrooms.

Having also reviewed the smaller, 4" version, I can still say I like these fake candles; they look good and serve a useful purpose in our home. This taller model turns on and off with the touch of a finger on the base, versus a clickable button on the bottom of the base of the 4" model, so it's easier to turn on and off. The design is modern, which fits our decor, and the glow is nice for a dimmed room.

What I wrote for the 4" model applies here, so here is a cut and paste of the 4" model review:

This is one well done fake candle. Not that I've had that many, but I know what a real one looks like and this could definitely fool someone. Aside from the imitation, though, the amount of light it puts off and the warm color glow adds a nice touch in nighttime rooms. If the battery life last as long as it claims (300 hours), it adds up to a very nice little product.

Batteries, 3 Energizers, of course, are included. The LED "flickers" realistically, though it may be a little less noticeable than a real candle. It has a 4 hour off timer which appears to work, as well. While I got this for free in the Vine program, I may actually buy a few.
