Energizer 7-LED Headlamp

The Energizer 7-LED headlamp includes four light modes plus a strobe feature, a pivoting water-resistant head, and an improved, wider comfort strap.

7 LEDs with 4 Light Modes

The Energizer 7-LED headlamp features six white LEDs and one red LED that together create four different light modes. Access the white light in the form of area, spot, or flood light; alternately turn on the red night vision with the push button switch. In addition, there is a strobe feature. The headlamp's LEDs provide a maximum output of 100 lumens of bright white light and reach a distance of 25 meters.

Versatile Features

The headlamp's water-resistant construction and flexible headband with comfort cushioning make it enjoyable to wear for long stretches of time in tough conditions. The Energizer 7-LED headlamp pivots up to 90 degrees to aim light where you need it without removing it entirely. The easy-open battery compartment makes changing batteries convenient when you are on the go.

Powered by Energizer

The Energizer 7-LED headlamp is powered by three AAA Energizer Max Alkaline batteries (included) and has a run time of up to 5.5 hours on the maximum setting. The batteries can be easily replaced by simply removing the headband and accessing the back panel of the head light.

This is a great light that I use for night exercise. It's very bright, has different settings (red, spot, flood, spot & flood). In the dark, I use spot&flood, but at dusk I use red so that cars see me.

Previously, these Energizer lights shown in your eyes and blinded you so that I had to add duct tape to bottom. This one fixed that problem.

Also, they made red the first setting, so that you don't kill your night vision when turning it on.

Highly recommended.

I've sampled a fair variety of headlamps thanks to years spent aboard a commercial fishing boat, and this is my latest one.

Likes:

Very bright with all LEDs on
Red LED night vision saver (fantastic for use on late night watches!)
Uses regular AAAs
Fairly long battery life
All weight on one side (no battery pack separate from the light itself)
Cheap

Dislikes:

Not as comfortable as many models, especially those designed for backpacking.
When you leave it on for awhile, it still requires you to cycle through all the modes to turn off. My old PrincetonTec and Petzl lights all used a single button push to turn off if you had kept it on one mode for longer than about 30 seconds. Surprisingly, I really miss this feature.

I was hesitant, without actually seeing the red light, or brightness of the white lights, to purchase this item. But boy, am I GLAD I did!!

The red light as the first setting is perfect! It let's you have illumination without toasting your retinas in real darkness. And the headband tightens securely about the head, though I've also loosened it and worn it around my waist as a "taillight" while jogging on my country road.

Either way, a great purchase. I also love that it takes batteries I can easily locate in the store. Built tough, this little gem.

Currently deployed to afgahnastan doing aircraft maintenance.. with almost no lights in my work area at night. This is working out great. The red light is good for moving arround my room without disturbing my room mate.. yet bright enough I can acutally see what I am doing. The other three light modes have worked wonderful for working on the aircraft. I can see everything I am working on.. even if it's doing an inspection on something far away. I still have good visabiltiy.. only bad part is the switch is hard to use with gloves on.. but not bad for the price and what you get..

I've owned three of these and they all behave the same. The LEDs and wiring work flawlessly. The red setting is the one I use the most. The elastic band stretches out and after a while it can't be adjusted down to fit. The ratchet that adjusts the angle of the light wears out and the light flops down. The rubber seal around the button wears out and cracks, then you have to pull the whole seal out or you can't work the switch. That said, I think that it's one of the better "cheap" headlights out there. I just can't seem to get more than a year out of one.

It's bright enough and has enough options to perform most tasks, including under-the-radar night work.

Its weakest point is where it swivels up and down to direct the light. The position of the light is held in place by two plastic tabs which contact a set of gear-like teeth that directs light angle. With frequent use, the plastic wears out and you will not be able to have the light hold in position.

It would have been so much better if the swivel was held in place by screws that you loosen or tighten to hold the light in position.

While this headlamp is plenty bright and the company had the right idea, I found several flaws that make this a poor choice. I walk my two dogs daily. In the winter months our morning and evening walks are in the dark so a good headlamp is a must. After reading all of the positive reviews on this product I decided to give it a try expecting it would be an improvement over the one I currently use. Well, a big disappointment! First, the hinge that allows the angle of light to be adjusted is a downright poor design. When walking the thing is flopping up and down. Honestly, how do manufacturers allow a flaw like this to exist. Secondly, the light bleeds in all directions so when wearing the headlamp, light shines in my eyes! For me, it makes the headlamp useless.

While this is a wonderfully bright headlamp, it is too heavy unless the straps are very tight, which is very uncomfortable The design would have been so much better if there was a strap across the top of the headlamp. I find that it has to be worn on a baseball cap to keep from sliding down off the forehead.
