Bought this to use as a nightlight and flashlight for a kids bedroom. Does so many cool things I bought a second one to use in my own bathroom. The small LED light next to the control switch is bright enough to be a low power nightlight. For the full power nightlight, you can leave it on the sensor setting to turn on automatically, or flip the switch to turn it on manually. To take it with you, just pull it out of the base. It turns on and you can switch between lantern, beam, or off. I love that it never needs batteries because it is rechargeable, it uses LED bulbs which never burn out, and the charger is Energy Star compliant. It also does not get hot, the way old style nightlights do. The nightlight is on the bright side, so in the bedroom we hid it behing a tabletop picture frame to provide a bit of a shield. Love the versatility!!!

I'm very impressed with this, works as an awesome nightlight and flashlight very cool. Wait till it goes on sale though. I paid $9 for mine and bought 7 for gifts
