5.0 out of 5 stars no problem
Bought two of these to keep my scale for UPS shipping going. Use one and keep the other charged to swap out when needed. Way better then keeping a dozen batts on hand all the time.
A normal battery last me one day. These, yea, last one day per charge. Perfect.

This is NOT a 9V battery. This is a 9V SIZE battery, but even at full charge only supplies a maximum of 7.2 volts. The reason for this is that NiMH cells provide a lower voltage than do alkaline cells, so you can't get exactly 9V BUT if Energizer had added 1 more cell, they could have gotten 8.4 volts which is very close. For some reason (most likely monetary) they decided to cut us out on 1.2 volts (I feel cheated as a customer--minus 1 star). In most cases, this isn't a problem (thus a rating higher than 1 or 2 stars) since devices that use batteries are made to work under a variety of voltages since batteries lose some voltage as they discharge BUT if you are running a sensitive device that turns off at a threshold at or above 7.2V, then these won't work for you (minus 1 star). Other brands offer 8.4 Volt 9V sized NiMH batteries. I suggest you go with one of those.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rechargeable batteries, March 25, 2011

The batteries that I bought were also bought along with the charger. I've had the batteries and the charger for 2 months and these batteries no longer charge. For the price of this unit the quality was not great at all. I would like to try to buy another charger but I recently tried another brand of battery with the charger and they charged just fine. I was not satisfied with the product.

I wouldn't recommend these (or any other 9V rechargeable) for smoke detector applications. They drain down after 120 to 180 days and need a charge...which is ok, if you are disciplined enough to make this necessary recharge. They will save you money over time compared to the alky bats, so you make the call. Chargers for these bats are also pricy and you need to make sure you have a charger that will handle your battery. An 9.5 charger will fry an 8.5 bat...beware.
