Amazon.com Product Description
The center channel speaker is responsible for playing a movie's dialogue, making it arguably the most important speaker in a surround sound setup. Fortunately, the Energy Take 1.2 more than delivers thanks to its dual 3.5-inch long-throw homopolymer/aluminum woofers, which handle the low and mid ranges, and the 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter for the highs. The result is spoken audio with perfect timbre, tonal balance, and integration. Each phrase--even those muttered under one's breath--is crisp and intelligible, and blends seamlessly into the larger soundtrack. The woofers are also stiff and lightweight, giving the low-end sound a deep, accurate resonance. The drivers are housed in a solidly built MDF cabinet with a concave plastic front baffle.
Users with small listening areas will appreciate the Take 1.2's relatively compact size, which checks in at 11 inches wide and 4.25 inches tall. The speaker is also magnetically shielded against video interference, so you can locate it under, on top of, or next to the TV without distorting the picture. The speaker performs particularly well when teamed with Energy's Take 2.2 satellite speakers, which are tonally matched to create a flawless front soundstage and dramatic realism. However, the Take 1.2 can also be added to other surround speaker systems, provided the listener adjusts for the unique qualities of each unit.
Additional features include five-way binding post speaker connections, which ensure a high-quality signal transfer; a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz; and a sensitivity of 90 dB. The speaker weighs 5.5 pounds and is backed by a generous five-year warranty on parts and labor.

Product Description
Energy virtually invented the Sub/Sat speaker category when it launched the Take Family. There had been small speaker sets on the market prior to Take, but none that could come close to competing with the sound quality of larger, more expensive bookshelf and floor-standing speakers. With their correct timbre and tonal balance, treble detail and integration, and impossible-for-their-size dynamics; the Take family redefines what you can expect from a speaker system at these price points, and is still considered the benchmark against which other small speakers are judged. The Take1.2 and 2.2 allow mixing and matching to build 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 systems. The Take 1.2 is a single speaker designed to serve as a center speaker, front or rear. The Take 2.2 come in pairs, and were designed as left / right, front, rear, or side effects speakers. The Take 5.2 is a package that includes four white satellite speakers (Take2.2) and one black center speaker (Take1.2). The Take2.2 is also great in pairs for music in the office, den, dorm room etc. In Summary - The Take system, plus a good quality subwoofer (the Mirage NanoSub is a great match), is the ideal package for the music and video buff with a tight budget and a taste for high-end sound. You’ll have a compact, extremely affordable, high-performance system that delivers a smooth, warm balance that invites extended listening. The fit and finish of the Take product is outstanding with its high gloss finish that looks far more expensive than the price tag would imply. They’ll look great integrated with virtually any decor.
