ESW-V10: The Perfect Complement
Because give and take was never an option in its design, the ESW-V10 delivers tight and powerful bass response from a high-style, solidly constructed cabinet. In fact, this subwoofer’s sophisticated cosmetics and innovative technology make it the perfect low-frequency complement to our flagship Veritas Series, RC Series and Take Series.
A bass-reflex design with dual rear-firing ports, the ESW-V10 shakes things up by employing a 10-inch woven composite fiberglass cone with patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround™. This proprietary design eliminates surround distortion, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity. An efficient BASH® amplifier allows this hard-hitter to deliver 300 watts of RMS power and 1,200 watts of dynamic power for the accurate reproduction of music and movie soundtracks.
The ESW-V10 features line and speaker level inputs and has an 18dB/octave variable low-pass filter that’s continuously adjustable from 40Hz to 120Hz. A fully variable phase control from -180 to +180 facilitates the ideal acoustical integration of the subwoofer with other speakers in an Energy system. An "auto power" feature enables the subwoofer to turn on and off automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal.
The ESW-V10 elegantly blends into any living environment by featuring seven layers of polyurethane that have been hand sanded to enhance its lustrous high-gloss black finish.

Flat On-Axis Frequency Response with Wide Bandwidth
Flat frequency response is the ability of a speaker to reproduce the entire audio range in a uniform manner. By ensuring that no one frequency dominates over any other, Energy ensures that every sound is reproduced the way it was intended, as naturally as possible.
Wide and Constant Dispersion
This refers to sound—at all frequencies—which radiates from the loudspeaker, ideally in an even pattern, in all directions throughout the listening environment. In nature, sound radiates all around us. A speaker must be able to reproduce this as accurately as possible, thus spreading the sounds we hear constantly, consistently.
Low Distortion & Resonance
While no speaker system is totally devoid of distortion or resonance characteristics—speaker systems with as much as 25-30% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at bass frequencies can still be considered "high end"—Energy consistently achieves significantly lower distortion levels in its entire line of speaker products. Fantastic sound!
Deep, tight bass ... Couldn't ask for a better compliment to my RC-10s. One note: it might be a little overkill for smaller rooms. My room is 13' x 11' and it gets a little boomy at louder volumes. Still one happy customer over here... (You haven't listened to Blue Man Group Complex until you've hooked this bad boy UP!)

This is a GREAT sounding (and looking) subwoofer. Piano Black finish, woven composite cone and brushed woofer basket give this unit a classy high-tech look... I want to protect it (keep the grill on) but i want to look at it too. Decisions, decisions.
Setup is simple with tall knobs on the back that are easy to access when reaching behind with the sub in place close to a wall. Defeatable on-board crossover and auto-on are nice touches. I live in a townhouse so I haven't pushed it to its limits (maybe someday if I know the neighbors are out), but it seems as though it will be PLENTY loud enough for my small/medium sized (12x18) basement theater area. Test tones show strong performance down to below 25Hz. Very good for music as well; this is not just a thump-bump boom box, it is a high fidelity extension of your music into the sub bass zone. I'm impressed. At the prices these ESW-V10's are going for here they're an amazing value. I also have an ESW-V8 and am equally impressed with that sub as well, in fact the 8 may have been enough for our reasonably low-volume application (close neighbors).
