I recommend this product. It does what it says it does. The hardest part is cutting it to the exact size (smaller than your window surface but not so small there is a noticeable gap). Do yourself a favor and apply the first one to the least prominent window and work your way up to the ones that matter. The manufacturer doesn't help with this...there are no pre-printed lines on the paper separator. The best method I found was to roll it out on a large table and tape it in several places; make marks using a long straight edge, and then cut with a utility knife. Any other technique usually ended in the film sliding around, choppy cuts, etc. Installation is relatively easy (IF YOU CUT IT TO THE RIGHT SIZE). My only other complaint is that the sizes it is sold in don't allow you to efficiently cover windows without wasting a fair amount of product (unless you are willing to splice, which would probably be OK but I didn't try it).

We love it!,
This review is from: Energy Film Glare Control Window Film 48-by-84-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
We covered all the windows in our house in Arizona the beginning of August. We wish we had done it sooner. It saved on air conditioning and allowed us to keep our blinds open and see out even on the hottest of days. We had tried another brand of window film and had to return it because it was so unmanagable. Follow directions and take your time. About four hours a day is enough unless you were born very patient or are not doing the project with a spouse you wish to keep. The suggestion about starting with an inconspicuous window was good--also start with a small window. We ended the project with two eight-foot doorwall windows. We peiced near the bottom rather than at eye level.
We laid thick cardboard under the cutting surface on our island and used sharp razors which we replaced often. The transparent film, which you would not know was there if someone didn't tell you, is meant to be left on to protect the film. It is invisible and does not need to be removed so just forget it's there. A sticky label on each piece will tell you which side faces the window and which the room. But if you make a mistake, don't worry; the wrong side will not adhere to the window (as long as you do not remove the difficult-to-find transparent film). Just read and follow directions. We had considered having exterior sun screens intalled at three times the cost of this film and are very happy we chose the film. It allows sufficient light to keep our many plants happy, and me as well.

This film is nice and easy to apply and does the job it was intended for. It blocks out direct sun but we can still see outside, it also keeps the heat out.
