5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, Extremely Quiet, and Moves a Ton of Air
I was looking for a fan to fit a new HTPC, and noise levels were very important. The fan also had to move a decent amount of air for it's noise level within a small, cramped case.

This fan met my qualifications, with a very low noise level (17db) and a decent air flow (44 CFM). It was also from a reputable company and at a great price compared to what else...

1.0 out of 5 stars Quite but does not feel like 44CFM
Update: After 6 Months of Use

I run my PC about 18 hours/day everyday. It has been running for about 6 month with the fan and it started to make a mild rattling noise after about 5 months of use. It wasn't loud, but definitely audible enough that it was annoying. After 7 months, the rattling has stopped. I'm not sure if that means it's about to die, but...

I'm not sure if that means it's about to die, but it definitely is not a good sign of quality control. I've had cheap sleeve fans run longer then this without making a noise at 2x the RPM. If I had a choice, I would not buy these again. The amount of air blowing is also extremely low as you can actually see the fan blades spinning and barely feel the air on hand when it's right on top.

----------------------------------------
I bought it to replace a dead fan in my Thermaltake power supply, which seemed to be a sleeve fan that dried up got stuck. I purchased 3 of them from a seller on here called dealbarn that had it for a good price with low shipping price costing me $9.20/fan. This was a deal for a maglev bearing fan.

Pros: The fan has clear fins and looks like it is well made. It comes with screws and an optional 4 pin molex adapter, so if you don't have the 3 pin motherboard connector, you can use the adapter. According to the box, it has 40,000 MTBF, which is lower then what i expected from a maglev bearing. I expected higher MTBF since it only spins at 1000 rpm. The nose level according to the box is 17 dBA. At 1000 +- 10%, it runs silent and i don't even hear any noise when my ears are next to it.

Cons: Because the fan runs so slow, u can almost see the fans rather then it being a blur if it ran at above 1500 rpm. It does not feel like it pushes 44 cfm. i can barely feel the air blowing on my hand next to the fan. I'm a bit concerned that the fan will not blow enough air on my power supply. I'll probably replace it with higher rpm fan later.

If u need a super quiet PC for audio recording or other audio visual use, then this is probably a good choice. However, if you need something for a gaming rig, even for an avg build, this is probably going to be too slow for rear or front fan.

I recommend that you purchase a 1500 rpm or higher fan for most avg build PCs.

I don't know how long it will last in the long run, but for my use, if i had to do it again, i probably would not have bought it. The air flow is just too low.

I bought 3 of them when it was onsale, due to its all 5-star reviews, paid about $27.59 including shipping. Oh man, now I am regret at my decision. The big problem is that air flow of these fans too little, it's almost useless or it does not blow air flow as a normal 120mm fan should do. Does it blow out 44CFM air? I don't think so. It simply does not do the work.

The only pro is: it is indeed very quite, if you have a low end PC, doesn't require even medium air flow, this is a good choice. otherwise, go buy other good 120mm fans on the market.

I was looking for a fan to fit a new HTPC, and noise levels were very important. The fan also had to move a decent amount of air for it's noise level within a small, cramped case.

This fan met my qualifications, with a very low noise level (17db) and a decent air flow (44 CFM). It was also from a reputable company and at a great price compared to what else was out there. As an added bonus it looks pretty good and doesn't have any annoying LEDs to disrupt a dark movie viewing.

The fan has delivered on everything I expected. I can't hear it all at top speeds. There is no whine or vibration in my setup, which has it mounted vertically as an intake fan on the side of a small case. It looks better than the pictures as well, with clear fan blades in a black housing. It comes with a 3/4 pin connecter, 4 screws, and is retail boxed.

I'm very happy with this fan and would recommend it for anyone looking for a silent case fan with high CFM.

The first thing I will say about this fan is that it is remarkably silent. On full blast you can barely hear it. Of course you have to trade airflow for this silence. It is not a tornado-maker by any means. This is great for anybody who wants to silence their current computer.

The pictures posted here do it no justice, it is a great looking fan. It has clear fan blades, and the whole fan assembly can be easily removed for easy cleaning. It comes with a molex to 3 pin adapter, and 4 fan screws.

Overall, this is great for a OEM computer that has an open spot for a fan, or for that office computer that has whiny fans. It would also be perfect for anyone doing audio production. I personally use mine to blow on my video card, and it does a great job of keeping the temps down. Enermax is a great company and you can not go wrong with this fan, unless you are looking for major airflow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stealthy, June 4, 2010

I was building an AVPC and wanted to make it the most silent computer known to man. I replaced all the case fans in an old Lian Li case with these things and put in a HIS silent graphics card. These fans are really quiet yet they blow nicely. They seem to move a good bit of air but certainly would not suck a monkey up a well-pipe like the ones on my gaming rig will. The Core 2 Dou CPU cooler is an Arctic Freezer Pro which is also silent and keeps the CPU really happy. I have these fans quietly blowing in the front and sucking out the rear so movie watching is as enjoyable as I had hoped. They do cost more but they act like they will be around for several computers to come. The magnetic bearings look like they have that rare "FOREVER FACTOR" designed into them.
