[[[ THE STORY ]]]
Without going into too much detail, as new parents, you try to prepare for your child as much as possible. In our case, we were waiting for the arrival of our baby daughter. My wife planned on breastfeeding but as a precaution, I purchased a single tub of Enfamil for Supplementing and a single tub of Enfamil Newborn Infant Formula as a precautionary measure. After all, you can return unused products to the store. Better safe than sorry is my motto.

It ended up that precautionary step paid off. Unfortunately, the unexpected happened and our daughter was born prematurely due to pregnancy complications during the 3rd trimester. She was in the NICU for 7 days and during that time frame, we visited every 3 hours, every day, for 7 days to nurse her. However, my wife was not producing enough breastmilk and after the first few times nursing, the hospital had to supplement our baby with formula. We asked for Enfamil, but they were a "Similac-sponsored" hospital. Therefore, all they had to give my daughter was Similac products. Even after we brought our daughter home, we had to follow the routine of nursing + formula. They gave us several samples of Similac Advance with the Early Shield logo and my wife and I decided to keep her on it since she was doing well, but around the same time, Similac Advance w/ OptiGRO was released. Stores now carry Similac Advance w/ OptiGRO (Early Shield branded Similac formulas are now gone around my area).

Seriously guys, you're parents now. You need to step up the reasoning skills.

This is good formula. I mean, it tastes horrible to me, but the baby likes it.

This option is great since you don't accumulate the formula tubs. Also turns out cheaper than the tub cost of 25-27$

These single-serve packets are great for travelling. We also keep a few in our diaper bag just in case we need to feed our little one away from home. It's a very convenient way to make formula away from home, and the cost is only slightly higher than the regular big containers of powder formula.

I honestly dont feel any one baby formula brand is significantly better than another. With that being said, my baby responded much better to the Enfamil Infant than the Similac equivalent. In fact, we even tried the "Gas and Fusiness" Similac and it made him MORE gassy. After a couple days on Enfamil he was MUCH better.

Simply put, my daughter loves the formula. It mixes up easily and she happily gobbles it down. The taste is slightly sweet. (I sampled it.) As this is a refill, it is slightly cheaper than the bin/tub version. We use this in conjunction with the bin, which is convenient and easy to use. I recommend washing the bin after every two bags. (Presently, my daughter drinks/eats about 8 oz at a feeding.) You receive a new scoop in the box. The formula acts similarly to white sugar if it comes into contact with moisture.

The age old question: Similac or Enfamil? As new parents, we are inundated with questions that require immediate answers without having any time to research or think about it. When my first son was born, he had low blood sugar and my wife was recovering from an emergency C-Section, so he had to eat from a bottle. This was very upsetting for my wife and I because we had planned, and wanted to breast feed (Not me, but my wife). This wasn't an option at the time, so we had to decide on formula.

The nurse asked if we prefer Similac or Enfamil. Not knowing anything about either, I asked them which is better. They said really they are the same because the FDA highly regulates formula. Not really hearing anything about SImilac and seeing commercials for Enfamil, we chose Enfamil. We used Enfamil newborn and Enfamil infant. Our son was not necessarily "colicky", but he was definitely fussy and very gassy. We noticed it got worse with the Enfamil Infant, presumably because there is different ingredients. After trial and error of many different things, our doctor recommended switching to the Sensitive version. They gave us the Enfamil and Similar sensitive. Since we used Enfamil, we tried that for a few days. It helped, but it wasn't perfect. Just for the heck of it, we tried the Similac Sensitive for a few days and our sons fussiness and gas was almost completely gone. We ended up switching to Similac sensitive and it was a thing of the past.

Enfamil and Similac are pretty much the same formula. I recommend you try one and if you are not getting results that you want, try the other. I don't want to rate this product as bad, because its not BAD, it just wasn't agreeing with my son for whatever reason
