5.0 out of 5 stars THE PERFECT INDUSTRIAL ALBUM, May 13, 1999

Die Warzau has perfected industrial music with this album. I'm not keen on other industurial music, but Die Warzau has managed to make a diry rock, clean jazz, funky synth, and rumbling bass album which outdoes any other industrial album I've ever heard. When I moved out of my indutrial rock phase, Engine was the only album I took with me. It's original, brilliant, and even now that I've moved on to hip-hop, I still bust out Engine on a regular basis. A truly awesome album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have album!, March 29, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Engine (Audio CD)
One of the greatest albums I have ever heard from a unique and outstanding group of musicians!
By far their most versatile and inspirational album
Totally ambitious and an altogether wild ride to take!
Unfortunately the band's last album together, but what a great way to go out!
Jim Marcus is a living genius and has done amazing work with side projects such as Oxygiene 23 and Everplastic
The highest rating allowed is a 5, otherwise I would've just given it a "Y" because the album just cannot be put into words or numerical scores

5.0 out of 5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed this album, February 27, 2002

I discovered Die Warzau back in 89 when I came across a copy of the compilation 'Mercury's Conviction'. Something about the band struck me, and I quickly picked up a copy of the dark, atmospheric 'Disco Rigido'. I love that album, which reminds me of a lot of the darkwave/industrial coming out around that time (like Nitzer Ebb and some of the Front 242), but this new album definitely shows a maturity. By far my favorite song is Allgoodgirls. Make an album of more songs like this! The band comfortably scales the walls of techno, industrial and funk, but still hold true to their original dark/dance sound. 5 stars

In case you are wondering Die Warzau is no longer but Van Christie is involved with the group "The Final Cut" check 'em out if you know what is good for you. Atonement is a great disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overlooked..., November 25, 2000

...but well worth picking up. 'Engine' is an intoxicating mix of disparate influences that still sounds as fresh today as it did in '94. Forget trying to pigeonhole this CD into one genre: just pop it in, press play, and zone out.

5.0 out of 5 stars rackets., January 6, 2000
By A Customer

...this is it. buy it. die warzau distorts the genre barriers (like every other band these days, but this was 95, before trailer park trash rap/rock was considered clever). anyways each track has a presence on its own, jazzy, noisy (and i mean noisy- samples of whatever), rock, even a lullaby (well 'all good girls' sorta fills that.) influences from hip hop are all over this disc. even though there's loads of influences, it boils down to a very comprehensive album.

the only drawback is that you'll be begging for more, and i don't know where you'll find it.

this is essential listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engine on Super Unleaded Jet Fuel, July 6, 2000
This review is from: Engine (Audio CD)
This joins Rammstein's Herzelied as a highlight of 1995 industrial. It mixes contemporary industrial with a dash of eighties synth and a one part techno into a strange but satifying batter. All good Girls and Muck stand out as the most prominant, however each track introduces a new spin on Die Warzau's eclectic style. Their best release to date. One of the best industrial albums ever recorded.
