It had many details and step by step how to rebuild the lawnmower. Provides all the necessary info of what could be wrong and how to find out if it is. Great buy!

The instructions in this manual are great for the beginner small engine tech. However, the latest engines are not included, which is too bad. It's time for an update on the material.

No surprises, just a useful book from Haynes. I have used their manuals for years as they have pretty comprehensive coverage of whatever you would need to know to keep, in this case, a lawnmower engine running.

I was an ACE automotive tech. for many years. I am retired now and I have several Haynes automotive repair manuals. Generally speaking, Haynes manuals have a lot of information. However often time there information is incomplete or in some cases wrong. I now tinker with small engines and I have the Haynes Small Engine Repair Manual. I was not satisfied with the book. There is a lot of other literature available with more and better information.

Well you better look to make sure YOUR small engine is covered in the book BEFORE spending any $$$ for it.
Even then, my Honda lawnmower engine was covered but inadequately. Had to take it to a professional shop
(not the reason for purchasing the book). He even said that the material in the book was WRONG!
(slow speed adjustments). However, interesting reading.

The book is very complete and very concise. It allows one to go right to the heart of an engine problem to begin to fix it. It also shows specifications that are critical for tearing down and rebuilding engines. I wish it were on other than newspaper pulp, but it is still an excellent choice for beginners, as well as master mechanics.

If you have a basic understand of engines, this is not a bad book. I have learned a few little tricks from this book. It gives some simple fixes to common problems. Not a bad book

I'm no Physics Phd, nor are many of the people I know who are interested in learning more about small engines. Thankfully this book isn't targeted at brainiacs. The language is refreshing and simple, and the author relates to the reader with experiences and practical specs. The photos are clear and helpful, and the book is well organized. I'd strongly recommend this Haynes Techbook on Small Engine Repair.

Not very up to date old print most of the illustration are the same as the ones I've bought 20year ago, I purchase two different book, small engine up to 5HP and 5 through 20HP, both of the same quality, new front cover old print old picture, One book was copied dated 1990 but the illustration are well over 20yr old.

I have bought a Haynes Repair Manual for just about all of the Engines that I have Owned!!!

I'm now taking a Small Engine/Equipment Class. But this class is like most other Classes in that they don't show you how to Disassemble or Reassemble the Engines or give you the Specs. It mostly just tells you to do it.

I went to Nashville Auto/Diesel College in 80 and 81. They furnished all of the Info. needed to Repair/Rebuild the Items we worked on. It was so Cool, on my last Phase they started a Hydraulic Class. All of the components where Clear and You could see how the System worked by watching the Red Fluid flow through the different parts of the Hyd. System. We about wore it out---they did buy extra lines and O-rings.

But Yes, I'll be buying Haynes Repair Manuals as I'm able to afford them for my Wife is of Chemo.and It Costs alot.

Haynes Manuals are the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!
