ESCHENBACH, Ph.D., P.E., is a consultant and Professor Emeritus of Engineering Management at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is the author of Engineering Economy: Applying Theory to Practice, 2/e (OUP, 2003). JEROME P. LAVELLE, Ph.D., is Assistant Dean in the College of Engineering and Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University.
