Exceptionally comprehensive overview of the disipline, especially for the neophyte. Coverage of historical development of various branches and addition of 21st century information is especially useful.

A bit weak
I have to say that I do not like this book because although it gives a good overview of engineering fundamentals, it does it on a rather low level. There was very little which was new for me. I have to add that I am 17 years old and in my school we have very strong physics classes. Maybe that is the reason. So if you are looking for something challenging. I would advise...
