Excellent Book,
By Carol Johnson (NY/NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Engineers of Independence: A Documentary History of the Army Engineers in the American Revolution, 1775-1783 (Paperback)
This is one of the best books I've ever read. The writing is plain and compelling and it is illustrated by maps, drawings, etc. from the Colonial era, as well as primary transcriptions of memoirs, letters, and other documents. It is history that reads like a novel without losing a balance of judgement and the inclusion of detail. Every library and every person interested in history should own this book.
