An incredibly good rummy game,

This is an extremely enjoyable rummy game, definitely one of my favorites. Players race to complete the melds on 5 "Target" cards, each of which awards a number of points. When a player completes a meld and claims the card, and new Target card (and hence a new meld requirement) replaces it. With 5 Target cards on the table at a time, you are fighting to hit a group of changing targets. The key to winning is to make combination melds that fulfill the requirements of two or more Target cards. If you do this, you claim all of those Target cards at once. Claiming two Target cards isn't too tough, but three or four are hard and claiming all five at once is extremely difficult (impossible?). Of course, while you're trying to put together a meld to grab 2 or 3 Target cards your opponent often beats you to one or more of them, so you've got to re-aim your hand at some other Target cards. I was at Origins (a gaming convention) in Columbus where they were holding a Target tournament, and it's interesting to note that *all* of the players were adults - so while this is a family game suitable for all ages, it has its fans among adults too, it's not a "kid's" game per se. The cards themselves are of a very high quality. The rules are very clear but could use a few more diagrams. The game is rated ages 8 to adult, and this game will really help younger kids to think a little, though it may take a few hands for the youngest of them to really catch on. All in all, though, this is my probably my favorite game and may become yours, too.

I got this game for my mom's birthday. She's a game nut, and it seems like each time I see her she has a new game to try out. This one is especially fun because it's simple to understand (there's not much referring to the rules to figure out what you're supposed to be doing) and it's really fast-paced. I hate spending half my time playing a game waiting for someone to take their turn. There's none of that with Target. It's fun, and the action constantly changes.I recommend the game to anyone tired of the typical card game.

I wanted this game because I'm always looking for card games that are fun with two people... or with a whole group. Target is just that.Other reviews talked about what the game is, so I'll just tell my opinions. Sometimes the game gets a little boring with only two people. It seems like you're just picking up cards and discarding and not ever getting the right cards to match a target. It was a lot of fun with four people though, and we even had six playing at once. As for educational value, i rate it very highly. Its a good game for teaching kids to watch for details and plan ahead. My cousin Tyler played it with us, he's 10 I think. He needed some help at first, but then he started matching sets by himself. The best part was when my cousin Shannon took ALL FIVE target cards in one turn! We were quite mad at her for that trick!

Target is a game that requires some strategy and some luck. We have played Phase 10 a lot and Target requires a little more thinking than Phase 10. We use it with our international students and it's good for building vocabulary and it also moves fast enough that people don't get bored. I think you'll find this game is worth the price and a good addition to your family game closet.

This is an excellent educational card game for the children to play with their family. Children ages 7 and up will enjoy competing with their friends and family members. The game teaches children how to think logically while solving at least four attributes. Teams or groups of six or more can play this fast pace game. The game can be modified for children under 7 by using only 2 attributes.

My husband and I play this game at least once a day, and I don't think we will ever get bored. This is a game where skill and luck are needed. But skill can be dashed quickly, so it can be only luck for a few hands. Even if the cards are poorly shuffled, the game still plays great. Highly recomended!

More often than not, my wife and I usually end up playing games with one another as opposed to a larger group of people. Some games that we buy end up being much more fun with friends and family, but are of only limited interest for two players. Target is NOT one of those games...it works beautifully for two people. In addition, it has several other fantastic advantages over many other games:- you can remove "target" cards if you'd like to control the length of the game (just take some out if you want a shorter game) - you are never really "out" of the game, even if you seem to be trailing - it is very, very easy to learn and remember the rules - it makes you think and strategize, but not due to complicated rules - it is very travel-friendly, consisting of just a deck of cards Like other reviewers here, I love the game and can't recommend it enough. It's our "go to" game whenever we have half an hour to relax with a game.

My family and my kids friends all love this game. We play it every chance we get. The kids (13 & 14 yr.old boys) even choose this over Playstation sometimes. Around here that seldom happens with other games.

We got the game a couple of months ago and my 6 year old daughter asks to play it almost every day. She loves going for the full house and 5-card straight flushes.

Simple and easy to learn, but challenging to win. Lots of fun and my kids(11 & 15)love it. So do I. If you want something like poker but in a format for kids and without betting, here's your game.
