This review is from: England and Germany in the High Middle Ages: In Honour of Karl J. Leyser (Studies of the German Historical Institute London) (Hardcover)
This is a series of essays that give insight into life in the Middle Ages. But not a lot of insight. Really, this book is academia at its most pompous. I believe the authors were competing to see who could write the most and say the least. I do not respect that. The history of the Middle Ages is interesting. Interesting enough to be told in an interesting manner. This book takes a great subject and makes it boring. Thanks.
