Like all of Terry Deary's Horrible Histories, this history of England reveals some of the uglier aspects of the rebellions, riots and back stabbing treacheries that most history books leave out. Since the tales are told, tongue in cheek, they are slightly more palatable than as straight forward gore. Tragically amusing, it is still filled with insights which are definitely worth reading since those who don't read history are doomed to repeat the same mistakes again and again.

Pretty good book for the kids. Enough illustrations and jokes. Pretty good all things considered. Nice series in general to read.
