This review is from: England's Barmy Army: Come on England (Audio CD)
I haven't even heard this "album" yet, but it can only be brilliant not only because I know some of the track titles, but basically because of their (Barmy Army's) cause: The unbridled support of English cricket bad and good. Having said that, it's now England's time for cricket "supremecy" and the Barmy Army may deserve some of the credit with their faithful support through the lean years and in making their support and presence known at every major cricketing nation and ground in the World. After inventing the game in the year dot, England have struggled in the last 20 years to get back into the upper-echelons of World cricket teams. They now rival and will soon supplant Australia (they've had a good run) to be the best cricket team in the World and the stupendous support of the Brit fans, specifically the travelling faithful Barmy Army, is I'm sure captured in this album of Army classics. I can hear it now - committed (maybe they should be) cricket fans singing "Jerusalem" not because they believe in the religion of the Church, but in the religion of Cricket, and the song and the game are both classics - QED. I can't wait to hear it and I can't wait to retire and join the "Army"............6wktmdn
