This review is from: English and Burmese Dictionary (Hardcover)
This Dictionary was already in its 3rd Edition by 1877, a century and a half ago.
There is no English or romanised pronouncing key for the Burmese words, so that makes it a complete write-off for me. As an ornament, the 2009 re-print is hopeless. It is a rather modern hard cover with a Dust Jacket with candy coloured lettering and background. It had several pages blank. Same content as the 2006 earlier reprint, but nearly twice as thick, but I hasten to add that the paper quality is not better than the 2006 reprint. The 2006 re-print has an antique distressed look. It is impressive as a decoration and has a leather looking cover. It is hand-bound in India. The spine is impressively and professional, and looks as classy as any law book you find in an upmarket legal practice. This earlier re-print is exactly the same in content, although described differently on Amazon, so I thought the two Judsons were different, hence the two versions on my table as I am writing this review. Avoid Judson. |
