The Civil Wars provides a critical new synthesis of current research on the political crisis that engulfed all three Stuart kingdoms in the mid-Seventeenth century. Drawing on new archival findings and challenging current orthodoxies on a variety of fronts, these essays offer a distinctly original perspective on the Stuart kingdoms' most traumatic decade.
