1.0 out of 5 stars Too much money for too few seeds, May 22, 2011
This review is from: English Cucumbers Renee's Chelsea Prize Seeds
Time and again, I've purchased Renee's (very expensive) seeds. Time and again, I've been disappointed by poor germination and stingy quantities of seeds within the packet. Perhaps I'm a glutton for punishment, but this year, I purchased a pack of these English cucumber seeds from this company. Again, they were expensive. Again, the packet contained ridiculously few seeds (13 total), and again, of those 13 seeds, 8 germinated. That's 61% germination from a fresh packet of seeds planted, watered and tended to to ensure proper germination. For the sake of comparison, I also purchased a pack of Armenian cucumber seeds from another company, which cost literally less than half of what I paid for one packet of Renee's and contained over 50 seeds, all of which germinated just fine.

NEVER AGAIN will I spend my hard-earned money on seeds from Renee's Garden. I simply see no point in paying exorbitant amounts of money for frustration, disappointment, and minuscule amounts of product when other companies offer more for less, with much greater rates of germination.

3.0 out of 5 stars Garden treasures, June 22, 2011

I love English cucumbers, but they are kind of expensive in the grocery store now so I decided I wanted to plant my own...but I couldn't find the seeds in any of our local garden store departments. I discovered this product and promptly ordered two packs. They arrived in the mail in a small envelope - only 6 or 7 seeds, I thought the postage cost was high for two small packs of seeds. I planted one package in my home garden and the other at our lake property garden. In both cases only one seed germinated, it is doing well at both sites and hopefully will produce some great cucumbers.

they are still seedlings now but they are growing well. I just wished there were more seeds in the package than just a few. And the shipping was outrageous for a small pkg like that.
