public domain material, December 14, 2007
This review is from: English-Esperanto Dictionary (Dodo Press) (Paperback)
This is a reprint of ancient material with expired copyright that you can obtain freely on the web. Perhaps it is interesting historically but it is not up to date and was not a masterpiece of lexicography. If you need an Esperanto dictionary I would suggest Benson's "Comprehensive English-Esperanto Dictionary" and perhaps trying to dig up a used copy of Montagu Butler's Esperanto-English Dictionary.

Not impressed, December 5, 2007

I'm not impressed. The dictionary is English to Esperanto only and the words are not even in alphabetical order. What a pity...

English to Esperanto is More Literal Than I Thought, July 25, 2009
This review is from: English-Esperanto Dictionary (Dodo Press) (Paperback)
This is a great dictionary for translating English words to Esperanto. It has a good summary in the first few pages of how to use the prefixes and suffixes. But the word order is a bit strange. There are two columns of words to a page. The second column does not follow the first column. The words are in alphabetical order for the first column to the end of that letter. Then the list continues in the second column at the beginning of that letter's chapter. It's a bit confusing since the words are still basically in alphabetical order. Why the publisher chose to print it in this way, I have no idea.
But this is only English to Esperanto. It does NOT have Esperanto to English. While it is true the title only says English-Esperanto, this is the first time I've come across a language dictionary that only went one way. But if you are only looking for that one direction, this is a good book to use, especially considering it's still in print.
It's true there are many good (maybe better) English-Esperanto dictionaries online, this is handy for when you need it in book form.
