Learning Russian can be an open door to Russan culture, with non only will help to understand them better, without the western cliches we are used.
But to know lot of new people which are looking friendship and the possibility to laean about us "culture stuff" sometimes is so obvious that we don't know we know it.
My asdvice, you will need a simple text book, but you will loose the fear " that Russian is very complicate" , it is ver easy if you try lo learn Finnish or Pole, that are apparently simply.
I'm no young a doing it for pleasure, learning foreign languages keep you brain connections alive and kicking and gave yup a perfect excuse to travel!
