This is a superb book, packed with information.,
By Monica C. Merschrod (Vermont) - See all my reviews
This review is from: English Historic Carpentry (Paperback)
This book is an excellent resource for timberframe builders, designers, or enthousiasts. It is very technical though, and many of the terms are un-definined in the glossary. The illustrations are superb. It has multiple indexes on specific joints. One index, for example, has an illustrated list of every single scarf joint immaginable, with a description of the joint's history and how well it functions. I love this book. Every architect and timberframer should own this book! It is very inspiring.
