The timepiece features a tonneau-shaped solid stainless steel case with stainless steel bezel. The large watch face is protected by a perfectly formed mineral crystal and boasts a textured, light tan dial. Chronograph functions at six, nine, and 12 o'clock--and a date function at three o'clock--stylishly blend with gold-tone Arabic numerals and classic watch hands. The Arrogant Collection's brown integrated band is made from smooth, high-grade, Italian calfskin and is secured with a stainless steel buckle clasp. The case back is opulently engraved with the English Laundry insignia and the timepiece is powered by Japanese-quartz movement. This Arrogant Collection watch is presented in a handsome case and is water resistant to 330 feet (100 M).

The English Laundry Story

    Christopher Wicks, the designer and creator of all things English Laundry®, was born a child of the Sixties in Manchester, England--The Centre of the Universe. In his very early years, he found solace sketching what he remembers mainly to be shirts, shoes & guitars.

    His coalminer father often remarked to his mum, “there’s something wrong with that kid, he should be outside kicking a ball.” What began as a preteen past time, however, became a life long career in the designing of men’s & women’s apparel.

    His first full time designer position came at the early age of 22, when he was the designer of men’s formal shirts for one of England’s largest gentlemen's shirt manufacturers. The passion for stripes, collar shapes, pearl bu ons and French cuffs that he gained during these years stayed with him throughout his career which eventually led him away from gentlemen’s apparel to the more in-demand realm of Sportswear.

    He then went on to design such sport wear brands as a Licensee as L.A. Gear, Ocean Pacific and Hang Ten. Wicks’ design career is ever evolving, moving with the fashions of today while staying true to his purely defined and elegant shirt making roots.

    Since leaving his Home land of England some 22 years ago, Mr. Wicks has resided in Hong Kong and the U.S. and currently lives in Los Angeles where he pursues his passions for rock ‘n’ roll, open top cars, motorcycles and, of course, fashion.

    Under his company banner, Defiance USA Inc and Rock & Roll Religion, Wicks now designs and manufacturers all the clothing for the world renowned guitar company, Fender®; as well as Jimi Hendrix “The Experience”, A Clothing Collection; Da Vinci, the original men’s wear collection since 1952; and what is now the jewel in the his Defiance crown, English Laundry® with its now synonymous tag line, Elegant ARROGANT and English™.

    Wicks is obsessed with Fashion, Music and his hometown of Manchester, passions that are evident throughout the collection of graphic t-shirts such as "Manchester—the Centre of the Universe".

    The English Laundry® shirts and designs are based on selected English Stripes, Plaids and Solid Poplins from the1960s and1970s the era in which the when he grew up. His style ranges from Mod Hip to Hippie Floral and beyond. His designs are embellished, embroidered, hand-laundered and hand-sewn. The hand laundering is a key feature in the fit and comfort of the garment.

    Mr. Wicks pays great homage to both his hometown and country by incorporating the Official Manchester Crest and images of the lions from the Manchester Town Hall awning in his designs.

    A day without music is a day without inspiration. The soundtrack playing in the backdrop of all Mr. Wicks’ endeavors includes music from The Small Faces, The Who, The Stones and, most importantly, the clean-cut elegance of the early Beatles.

    The Brand English Laundry® was launched 7 years ago and became an immediate cult success in America and has now become one of the leading fashion trends in the U.S., and is just about to enter the Global Market.

    The collection, which started out as an elaborate shirt line, has grown into a selection of suits, jackets, headwear, cufflinks and accessories and an extensive range of fine timepieces, his signature Fragrance “Arrogant” and the Women’s Line: ER II by English Laundry.
