I had an English Setter(orange Belton) that I raised from a puppy for twelve years. I bought this book as a remembrance. I love the gorgeous, glossy photos of all varieties(orange Belton, blue Belton, black and White, brown and white, and tri-color) of English Setters. In fact, all the pages are glossy stock, so this is a very attractive looking book. It covers all the aspects of dog ownership, including raising a puppy, training puppies and adults, and even whelping. Some history of the breed is also discussed. The advice is very professional and useful. While general obedience training is well covered, training for hunting is only mentioned with the suggestion that it be done by a professional experienced in that area. It makes sense that training for hunting is beyond the scope of this book, or any book for that matter, being something that is a matter of various traditions. Even so, there are some books devoted to the subject if that is what you need, but such books should be viewed as a matter of adding suggestions rather than your only resource, since using dogs for hunting is not for amateurs.
So, if you want a great book on English Setters with lots of high quality photos, you should like this. By the way, Barron's also has other books in this series covering other breeds; I also have the one on Newfoundlands and it is of similar quality.

This book was very helpful as we were raising an English Setter from a puppy. I loved the photos and still use it with our English setter. Good Book if you have an English Setter.
