3.0 out of 5 stars English Songs: Renaissance to Baroque - High Voice (Book/CD): The Vocal Library, March 24, 2007
This review is from: English Songs: Renaissance to Baroque: The Vocal Library High Voice (Paperback)
The book has 34 songs in it by 18 composers. The variety found here is what carries the bulk of the 3 stars. A list is included at the bottom since Amazon doesn't provide a table of contents for this book.

Unfortunately, I have found the accompaniment CDs to be less than helpful. As someone who is not familiar with most of these songs and doesn't know how to sight read, I would have preferred the CDs have a guide track of some sort on them, preferably one that could be switched on and off by adjusting the balance of the speakers. But the CDs just have a piano playing the accompaniment part and this makes it difficult, if not impossible, for a non-sight singer to learn.

Anyone who is experienced in sight singing or who knows the songs in here fairly well would probably find this book and CD set to suit their purposes. But if you are more like me, then you will probably find it more frustrating than fun.
