If you are serious about your English vocabulary buy it!,
By Konstantin Lissianski (Russia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: English Vocabulary in Use Upper-intermediate With answers (Paperback)
The book will help ESL students extend their vocabulary. The format is very efficient - even pages contain the material, odd pages contain the exercises. The book has 100 units and every unit explains a unique phenomenon of the English language. The Index encounters about three and a half thousand English words which for me is quite a lot. You will find six units on idioms, a unit on slang and much more. The book is for upper-intermediate and advanced students. If you are just a beginner, look for books with the same title for beginners or intermediate students.

This vocabulary guide is excellent. The format is very easy to use and very accessible. I am an ESL teacher and am always looking for more vocabulary for my students and exercises to go with that new vocabulary and this book covers both. If you like the English Grammar in Use books, you'll love this one.The only thing I would change is that I would probably get the intermediate level instead. Although my students are advanced, this level is a little bit challenging for them. |
