Praise for Far From Home: The Complete Series

". . . was never disappointed. The story pulls you in and you suddenly become one with the characters. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves the genre!" - Reader Review
★★★★

"A complete science fiction saga set in a world that is clearly informed by the author's influences, and yet uniquely his own. This is what all true storytellers do. Much in the way that Prince blends parts of James Brown and Jimi Hendrix and Sly and the Family Stone, or Quentin Tarantino blends...well...everybody, I guess. Tony wears his influences on his sleeve like he wears his heart on his sleeve" - Reader Review
★★★★

"I really enjoyed this . . . it reminded me of Star Trek in the way it lets the reader enjoy the characters and the story without getting bogged down in technology. A fast and entertaining read" - Reader Review
★★★★

"Excellent well written and entertaining work that will thrill you and keep you reading until it is finished. Couldn't put it down. Keep up the great work" - Reader Review
★★★★

"This was an excellent series. It reminded me of both the Voyager series from Star Trek and, with the alternate versions/timelines it reminded me of Fringe as well. Excellent writing" - Reader Review
★★★★

"I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Fast paced, developed characters, not over burdened with technical details and reasonably priced" - Reader Review

Healey kicks off another exciting installment of his Far From Home series with Enigma. There is no boring "keeping up with the gentry" here, as the story starts right out with Captain King and comrades getting right into the action. This Enigma becomes a real quiescence in the middle of a scream as the voyage of the Defiant and crew take on new adventures, adversaries, and audio visual assaults. And I really do wish you would try and KEEP UP! It will be fun!

This was a terrible read. Just a novella to open up a new storyline, which would be ok in itself. Storyline and decision tree was not believable based upon the other books. All this new weaponry and no one took samples or inspected them. There was no new action at all, just a rehash of the old. After fighting an alien race for decades the Captain makes a decision to wake up an even worse race from a millennia ago without any thought to ask higher authority. Making that decision was bad enough but then not to have the person in a high security area, after noticing the cybernetics is even worse.

VERY DISSAPPOINTING. You should have stopped as you initially wanted to.

Love the story line, however, it bothers me how they keep finding upgrades from old Tech. (1-13 of series). After 50 years those prototypes should be both 'standard equipment' and upgraded or even replace with even better stuff.

It gets even worse with Enigma... The Namarian were defeated a thousand years ago which should mean their tech would be a thousand years old and those that defeated them would of had better tech at the time and even better tech now a thousand years later.

Then there is the idea that the Union took the time to remove the crew without having a full blown research team looking at the engines and the ships, none of which had any security system in place to protect from such? Keeping in mind they knew how to prevent the auto awaking of other crew members????

This book is great. If you like sci-fi, this will whet your appetite for new material for a time, but leave you wanting more from Mr. Healey.

My only complaint would be the length of the book. Just as the story is starting to heat up, it's over and leaves off on a cliff hanger. If this ending is used to keep readers coming back, it's not necessary.

Mr. Healey does a great job, and I will be looking for more of his work regularly.

If you are a star trek fan, you will love these novels. While not a carbon copy, Tony Healey delivers characters that you can totally relate to.. You quickly feel a kinship with the crew of this starship. While not bogged down with too much technicality, Mr Healey puts you on a ship you wish you could be apart of and takes you on an exiciting adventure. Can't wait for more.

Well done, entertaining and -at least, at last someone bothers!!- properly proofread text takes you on a journey escaping into space fantasy, pure joy and pure space opera entertainment. If space opera is your thing, go for it, bang for your buck, plenty unexpected deus ex machina, I'm eagerly purchasing the following story to see what will happen next.
