Not the Decadence of the Descendents...Please Enjoy!,

At first look the Descendents album Enjoy looks like a joke, but that's only half true I'd say. With fake song titles on the back of the album like "Floater", "Sausage", "Barnacle","Loaf", "Cable Service", etc.
There's great serious POP tunes like Milo's "Get the Time", Bill's "Cheer", and the great Beach Boys cover "Wendy". "Get the Time" and "Cheer" standout as some of the Descendents' best girl songs. This album has a dark edge too dealing from daily routines to greed to the way the girls aren't all they seem to be. The grumpy long almost clocking in at eight minutes "Days Are Blood" is a good Descendents Oddball...I actaully like it quite a bit. "The Nights are Blood too!" "Green" is about how people are all about the Green(not weed, but money). "80's Girl and "Sour Grapes" are about the bad side of girls. "Sour Grapes" is one of my fave Descendent songs with the Milo monologue at the beginning. However, the joke songs are the caffeine pumped "Kids on Coffee"...it's a wacked Descendents classic that could have fit well on "Fat EP"...it lasts about 45 seconds. "Enjoy" is the farting song of course which is funny at first then gets ridiculous...nonetheless still funny. "Hurting Crue" is kind of a darker song but it's funny("I'm better than You...you a piece of poo")...it's about a guy who got a 1420 on his SAT...which happened to be higher than Milo(IMPOSSIBLE!!). "Orgofart" is the recording of the farts and the laughter as they were doing it. I don't really think "Orgo 51" is anything at all...just a creepy instrumental that closes the record. Very good record indeed...it's a must for a Descendents collection or SST collection. The cover is awesome.

A Classic,

Screw all of those new pop "punk" bands, blink 182, Fenix TX, all the rest, this is actual melodic punk and it deserves some recognition. It has my alltime favorite Descendents song, Cheer, as well as a ton of other greats. Milo has an awesome vocal that no one could match, and the guitar is really rad too. It's raw and good and should be checked out by anyone who has ever called him or herself a "punk". Highly recommended, it's one of my favorite CDs ever (I have more than 200). It's all steady, generally happy punk about girls. What more could you want? The best songs are Cheer, Kids, and Green. Also buy CDs by TSOL, Guttermouth, and the Vandals if you think you like the Descendents.

You know, the group that basically made that whole melodic-punk thing popular. The group that is still being immitated today. Anyway if you were wondering where Blink 182 and Lit got some influence, now you know. If you already knew, I think thats wonderful. You should buy Enjoy!, not only is it a great Descendents record but its funny and catchy. What a great band. Hey, ya know what I just noticed...there is a picture of "Dude Ranch" just to the left of me. Thats so weird, man.

one thing to say...,

"Sour Grapes" is by far one of the best teen angst songs of all time, right up there with Add It Up by Violent Femmes.

This is the worst album by the descendents. It's unfortunate that i have to say that considering they are one of my favorite bands. I think theyre are a some quality songs on here but it just doesnt flow as well as their other albums do. The two farting tracks are especially dubious.I would get any other one of their albums before this one. The best songs are: " 80's girl","hurtin crue", "green", and "kids".

Better than "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" though not as good as "Milo Goes To College" or "Everything Sucks". Favorite tracks; "Sour Grapes", "Get The Time", "Cheer", "80's Girl", "Green", "Days Are Blood". If you are interested in the Descendents, don't make this your first purchase. Get "Milo Goes To College" first and if you like that get "Everything Sucks". Then from there go after the rest. This album has some classic Descendents songs, which thankfully outnumber the "not so classic" ones. This album is nothing you will be amazed by, though as the title suggests it is more of an enjoyable listen every now and then. Essential for any Descendents fan. Good stuff. If you hate work but you love girls, food, and farting, (...) Have fun.

And then move on to Circle Jerks, old Black Flag, X, Killdozer, and old Social Distortion. I want an essay on how life is All in one word or less by Friday. Enjoy.

Blink 18...who???,

This review is from: Enjoy (Audio CD)
All this talk about Blink 182, A new found glory, Green day...etc.. Comedic Punk started here with Descendents. This is one of my all time favorites cd's. Enjoy is funny from the start, And ends with recorded farts. I could babble on and on about how great they are and all, but why bother. If you like blink's sound, this is where it came from. Also check out Circle Jerks "Group Sex" for more original comedic punk.
