I'm an avid reader but somehow couldn't get into many of James' books. The Maximum books were great! I loved this second one!!! Of course they talked like older people, they were talented and special kids, not normal ones and they were educated as such! Keep up the good work and please keep the story line going! I'm telling everyone I know about them. Now I'm going back and reading When the Wind Blows and The Lake House to "catch" up!

I loved all the Maximum Ride books and couldn't lay them down hardly to go to work. Maybe you need to keep reading, sometimes a person just isn't in the mood to read and if you go back later it's better.

Same here. I really liked the first book, but the second one just turned me off of the series. I can only stand half of the flock (Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy), though they're barely mentioned in the story in comparison to the other three. Plus, the Mary-Sueishness burns.

After the first 3 books they aren't as quite enjoyable but still good.
