Have you ever wondered how a creed could be important to your life? Smith breaks down a document that is terribly difficult to chew through, but so full of riches that it should not be missed. He brings the deep thoughts of the faithful who wrote the creed down to your everyday Christian's level, and shows how they can guide you to a fuller enjoyment of God in your daily life. A wonderful tool for understanding what it means to be a Christian, along with his other book Meet Jesus Again for the First Time.

As clergy in the Presbyterian Church (USA) it is surprising to me how few have studied our confessions. When I remarked that I was preaching through the Westminster Confession many pastors in our area simply laughed. Granted, I did not go through it question by question as it is designed to do, but using this book as a jumping off point I was able to create a series of sermons that brought this important document into better light and understanding. Many have commented how they were now actually interested in reading the document.

Paul Smith takes one of the most transforming documents of the protestant church and makes it digestable for the lay person. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is trying to get a grasp on the importance of this Confession for the church and for our culture.
