3.0 out of 5 stars Good price but slow receipt.
The title says it all. The price was good but it took a very long time in arriving. Since it was sent to my son in another state I have no idea what the quality of the book was like.

I've been in a hurry for the last several years. I've wanted to get there yesterday. While reading this book I gained a new sense of peace and surity that God is leading me, and He's leading me his way. There are somethings that can't be rushed, things like experience, training, patience, and stamina. I've been reminded that God has the perfect plan, and that as I submit to Him, and trust His ways His perfect will is being done in my life. I no longer feel the enormous pressure, stress, need to hurry, and feel of failure like I used to.

Thank you Joyce, for reminding me that God is not dissatisifed with me while I'm in the process of getting there. I'm learing not to beat up on myself or become too discouraged when I haven't reached my goal as quickly as I wanted to. I'm continuing to press on even though sometimes my progress is only inch by inch, it's still progress after all.

One thing that the Father continues to reveal to me over and over again the past few years is, "despise not the day of new small beginning" I'm thankful that God started me on the Christian trip, and everyday, I progress forward. I haven't reached my final destination, and I know that I've made some blunders, and failures along the way, but everyday I dress and prepare myself for the spiritual journey. I wouldn't accept anything in exchange for the trip that God has invited on.

Thanks for the reminder, it's the little stops, rests, purchases, friendships, prayers, and quiet meditations, while sight-seeing that take place during the trip that makes reaching the destination a joyous one. And Oh the refreshing that comes with enjoying the trip, and the company of others along the way, when you don't try to hurry time.

Yes, I'm learning to Enjoy Where I am (the stops, fill-ups, and quiet meditations along the way) on the Way to Where I'm Going.

Continue to be blessed, and share the heart of the Father. God's Peace Be Yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scripturally Solid, March 18, 2004
By
This book is about attitude. It's about how to maintain the proper attitude to enjoy the abundant life Jesus gives. Yes, it is a learned process because life has challenges. In fact, the opening chapter describes life as a process. Waiting is inevitable. In the process we will always be headed someplace else. That's where the title of the book comes into play.

We're reminded that as God created different elements, He enjoyed what He had done, saying it is good. In similar manner, she encourages us to enjoy our work. "Relish the moment," is the advice she offers in reflecting on Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

She hits an excellent mark in targeting communicating with God in the mundane tasks, noting, ""Secular things can become sacred things when the Lord is present." She says she believes ALL of life should be celebrated and enjoyed. It's all a mindset! Attitude! That is the kind of life Jesus came to give us. This book is powerful because it teaches you how to apply the truth of God's Word to your everyday world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Changing, June 14, 2002
By A Customer
This book changed my life. I have read many of Joyce Meyer books but this book had the biggest effect on my life. In the book Joyce talks about enjoying the were you are at any moment in your life. She explains that we should enjoy what we have and the present stitution that we are in, and in order to get were we want to go we need to be comfortable with our current stitution. I advise everyone to read this book if you are unhappy with the current state of your life. This book will teach you how to embace what god has giving you at the present time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very calming, May 3, 2005

I was travelling by bus and I knew it will take 8 hours to reach my destination. I hated the fact that I am wasting time like that. I had this book with me because I bought it for a friend as a birthday present. I started to read it and within 20 minutes I began to enjoy the trip. I felt I could really appreciate even those moments spent on the way to somewhere else.
This is not a book that you should buy and read in one sitting - not even within a couple of days. You should keep it by your side and read couple of pages every time you feel anxious, in a rush or doing anything that you don't enjoy doing.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Need To Own This Book!, July 27, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read the reviews here and decided to get the book from the library. Well I have finished this book and I must say that the author has met me at the very place I am in my life right now. Chapter ll Joy in God's Waiting Room continues to speak to my spirit. Joyce Meyer speaks on so many areas and each one has touched me and showed me things that I did not realize. I thought that Joy was something that came over you or as a result of circumstances but it is not. Joy is a choice and something that God has instilled in each one of us. J.Meyer gives examples of this and she backs up what she says in scripture. If you find that your patience is being challenged (God does this from time to time when He is preparing us for the next level (James 1:2-8) If your attitude is not Godly in your waiting and you feel that your joy is just not there...then you need to do as I did...YOU NEED TO OWN THIS BOOK! Just as God has blessed me to become a licensed RN I know and needed to be reminded that as I am waiting and believing God to open doors for me I have the victory because I am a child of God. I am going to re-read this book and now I can highlight and refer back to this book for continual growth in the area of patience and truly trusting God and knowing that He has everything under control. God Bless You!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoying Where You Are, July 23, 2004
This is a wonderful book, and I can think of several people I know who could probably benefit from reading it. Its basic message is about not saying to yourself that you'll be happy when such and such thing happens. You can be happy NOW. Wonderful wonderful book that is MUCH needed in this day and age.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth reading some parts everyday, April 6, 1999
By A Customer
The chapter entitled "God's Waiting Room" is the point of this entire book. It could be read again and again to remind the reader that God hasn't forgotten you. Joyce really knows what Christians go through and this book hit me hard.
