Not a great improvement over RE1, but not bad
on August 19, 2014
Oh Trevor Chan, shame on you. All you did was re-purpose RE1 and update some of the graphics. The AI is still terrible. There are even more bugs than RE1 and the storyline became a bit too redundant with the themed restaurant building. I liked that RE1 came with this package as that was what I was looking for in the first place. RE1 was a game I had played years ago and enjoyed it, minus the quirks and bugs. In RE2, there are many recipes that seemed out of place, like you had handed over development to a 12 year old that didn't understand English. Many recipes are missing "essential" ingredients that could bolster the recipes ratings and I was hoping to be able to assign tables / return positions for staff members to alleviate the collisions and delivery complaints but alas, it wasn't there. I was also looking for a better interface to assign ingredients to recipes instead of going through each individual recipe in each different type of restaurant. It's a bit tedious with that method. A better method would be a spreadsheet like interface of all ingredients for every recipe and the ability to assign ingredients from the various suppliers.
For a game developed four years ago, it wasn't bad and I enjoyed it as well as revisiting RE1 and the price was fair.
